This is good to know, but is there anything wrong in copying someone's writeup
Yes there is. When you don't cite the source it is plagiarism. You are trying to profit off the work of someone else. When you cite the source but copy the entire article it is an SEO and spam issue. When you copy part of the article, cite the source, but do not add your thoughts and comments it is a spam issue.
Just how many times does steemit need the same article copied & pasted? I don't remember the article but I found one that was copied and pasted by more than 10 different users. None of them adding anything original to it. It's spam.
Part of social media is being social and sharing your thoughts and opinions.

Good idea. I can volunteer to help. I feel like everyone deserves an email warning them of this kind of stuff before punishing them too harshly. Definately worth warning them a few times before anything major.

Hi steemcleaner - I got comment spam from photography-help and investigated to find that the same spammy comment seems to be the only activity on the account.
The same exact comment is posted over and over again to many accounts and nothing else - no actual posts, no other comments, and I don't see any replies to people like me who have questioned the comment.
The comment questions the source of the photos, and people are replying to say where they got the photos.
Someone suggested that using the "photography" tag triggers this comment which seems absurd.
Is there any suggestion you have for me in avoiding this in future and how to handle the current comment? I have not had something like this happen before on my posts.
Do you already know about this and is there something we little noobs should be doing?
The post I got the comment on is photos of my son and discussion of his ptsd issues. Now the first comment on the post questions the authenticity of my photos. I am surely not alone in having this happen very inappropriately.
Thank you for any help and I apologize if you are not the right person to ask about this issue.
