I made a tool to make it easier to post youtube videos to Steemit - creating a quick and easy customisable markdown template with the youtube title and description.
This is intended to speed up the posting process for regular video posters , please be sure to customise and add your own introduction before posting.
It lives at :
steemvids.com/create
It looks like this :
Simply paste in a youtube url - I used the latest @titusfrost video here :
The app will automatically pull from the youtube api :
- Video thumbnail
- Video Title
- Video Description
- Original upload date
And quickly make a post template ready for you to customise.
Quick copy and create new post buttons
Just paste your clipboard into the new post window on steemit , and you'll end up with a prebuilt post ready for you to customise with your own special touch :)

Please try it out and let me know if you have any ideas for improvements! It will continue to change over time as work on the overall steemvids site progresses. Feel free to copy the code from the github repo and make your own version!

Well that blows. This post had been sitting on an almost $80 pending payout after ~$10 in the first round. I'd been checking this daily for the past 15 days, hoping someone wouldn't flag it before payout but HF18 just reset me down to $0.78 :(

When you make the steemit post, click "markdown" in the top right hand corner before you press paste. You can edit your post the same way, it will fix the way the headings display

This only works on youtube for the time being, but eventually the whole steemvids site will support all the major video hosting platforms :)
