I hope people would realize that this is harming more than helping. Just look at the trending page posts, no one is paying for votes, and they do just fine.

Well, I don't think the trending page is really representative for what minnows could be hoping for as it has pretty much only established authors with established following on there and I don't think newcomers have a real chance of getting in there just with a few great posts or something. Additionally, it might be important to note that while the "big guys" are not paying for votes and don't have that "you bought a vote" comments on their articles, they do get automatic votes from some of their followers that are for all intents and purposes bot votes too. Additionally, you'll notice that accounts with more resources have another way of "buying" votes, comments and resteems - contests.
Yes, you are right. And the minnows pay them to use their voting bots. So it's obvious they are feeding them even more money.
