Wow. I was planning on writing to you later actually, you have been on my mind again today.
Well as you know, I was run over by a car and basically disabled -- and due to my activism the state is burying my file. Presumably due to my very public activism against state related police/political corruption.
The police and hospital and politicians are interfering/ignoring me, in this and it is ruining me and they know what that they are doing.
I have just recently started being able to actually get out of the house and around (with help) and Steemfest is only a dream for me, physically and $$ wise so this post lifted my spirits.
Just to have a chance for a guy that does not travel or cannot do much these days -- is nice.

I was blessed to attend Steemfest the First in Amsterdam, and I'm sure almost everyone in attendance would agree that it was one of the best weekends in all of life! I want to see how @roelandp tops his incredible self with Steemfest 2 in Lisbon. I also want to share my wealth of yoga knowledge with everyone who wants to play or needs relief of any kind!!!
I want to attend Steemfest 2 with my travel buddy @everlove and (hopefully!) @quinneaker. @everlove has already been generously gifted a plane ticket by @theprophet0, @aggroed, and @steemfestdreams. I will do everything I can to get there as well while keeping my expenses as low as possible.
I live in the most sustainable ecovillage I know about, the @gardenofeden, because it is the most righteous cause I have found thus far in life. I don't shop at stores, go to movies, eat at restaurants, or go on trips; instead, I dedicated all my resources towards helping others through our outreach. I witness the living example of how much can be accomplished, how many lives can be profoundly changed, how deeply the Earth can be affected when we work together, so I choose to donate my time, energy, and wicked money making skillz to the @gardenofeden.
I would be so thankful to the Steemit community for sending me to Steemfest 2! By keeping my costs as low as possible for this pilgrimage, more people are served as I will have more to direct towards helping others!
We feed tens of thousands of free meals a year, save hundreds of thousands of pounds of trash from the landfill, house hundreds of people who need a real chance at life, and offer hope to people across the world that a better way is possible! Simply put, I want to go to Steemfest because I'm in crypto from 2013 and never met someone who is as passionate as I am. It would be great to meet people in person an share great excitement about Steem.

I am glad to see more people joining in crowdfunding trips to SteemFest this year. Now that some people with real stake are starting to do it, my little campaign feels kinda silly.
Well done. In one post, you have gotten more support than I have been able to raise in several posts this SteemFest and last years. I started the @steemfestdreams account last year and have never made any reward myself except of course followers that I have gained.
All of the rewards that my posts raised have gone into making dreams come true for Steemians. We bought a few tickets and made a few donations but never as big as 1000 SBD!

I am planning on making it to Portugal, but at this point I have not figured out how to fund my trip. I have raised funds for others but not for myself and I am taking care of my father who is very sick and close to the end. So I am not sure how everything will play out.
The STEEM that I have earned over the past 10 months is now worth more money than I have ever had in my life. I don't quite feel right asking to win this contest if it can go to a more deserving person who needs more assistance. If I have to, I could use some of my STEEM to get there. It's kind of a difficult decision though as that is my life savings at this point and I want to continue to grow it.

I could not attend last year's Steemfest but made a promise to myself that I would make the next Steemfest come hell or high water.
You may know me as the host of Steemit Open Mic, a weekly, live music venue contest in its 38th week now and sponsored by @pfunk. We give 300 steem each week to Steemit musicians who enter the contest and it is growing bigger each week.
So why should you choose to send me to Steemfest?
I will pay it forward and if selected I will help send one musician from Open Mic to Steemfest too. I'll match the offer made in this post to help someone else go to Steemfrst this year.

I have been blogging here on Steemit since last year, when I was turned on to the platform by a video created by @piedpiper.
I don't really want to "advertise" myself, but Steem has been a "dream come true" for me in that, as someone who has always written and created content, payout or not, I am finally paid for my ideas, which is what I am truly passionate about--ideas--and the efforts I make of my own self-interest to make the world a more voluntary place.
Right after I started Steem I had to leave my job,
and Steemit.com helped me to pay my bills for about a month and a half of unemployment. This was absolutely unreal to me, but real all the same, because I always felt that what I had to say had value to someone. First and foremost to me, as without expression I do not know how I could survive and thrive, and secondly to the neat folks who have resonated with what I say over the years and supported this self-expression.

It is my hope, dream, and now practical goal to turn "Steeming" into a lifestyle, and going to this event in Lisbon would mean the world to me.

I rarely win stuff, i have gone through life competing and always ending up second or third or not anywhere onbthe top list. I really never knew what made others special and not me because i worked twice as hard as everyone else. I have written on two occasions how i wish i could represent my country on steemfest this year and I've seen several All paid trip competitions but because of my failure when it comes to luck i never tried.

I'm a YouTuber living in Poland, so not too far away from good ol' Lisbon! I've been here on Steemit since I first got introduced to it, about 2 months back. Ever since then I've posted a few videos about it, happily gained over 400 followers and am earning quite well due to the fluctuations of Steem on Poloniex and just through curating/creating content.
I've been looking for ways to further my online reach and this was a perfect platform to work with. I'm currently working to create a new YT channel for Steemit, or at least host a plethora of videos on my current channel with 16K and just do a daily/weekly show here. The videos would be most likely only for Steemit (unlisted if on AVILSD) so I hope that would help with marketing.
I'd love to go to Steemfest, I think it'd be a wonderful opportunity to connect with people and maybe catch a few videos about it all. I see a bright future in Steemit and I'd love to help promote! The people I brought over from my channel were happy when the prices went up, and now after HF19 I'm sure they're promoting it themselves too to their family members and friends! Out of all the platforms I'm on, I've slowly been shifting more and more time here. As of next week, I'll be working most likely full-time to try and expand my audience here :) thank you for the opportunity, Steemit!

Its really funny. I actually hadnt thought of going to the steamfest until now. I know steemit is not in Africa especially in Ghana. I am one of the earliest adopters of this platform and have been trying my best to bring more people, more likely investors to this platform. I just really will love to come for the steemfest so that i can stand in for Africa well. Know more about steemit and more. I think its high time more Africans come and contribute to this community. Here's why I'd like to go to steemfest II . . .
Steemfest I was amazing. I as in the first not I as in me . . . I mean I was pretty amazing too but we're here to talk about steemfest!
I had no idea it would be so amazing but I was so excited by this social media revolution that I wanted to meet the people behind the name tags. There was no disappointment. It exceeded my expectations immensely. It really showed just how much positive energy and motivation was pushing steem forward.
Forget about the money for a minute. Steemit has done so much for my life. I am learning new things and getting involved in an industry that could be 10 times as revolutionary as the internet. I have started building a brand with another steemian that I hope will become our source of living some day. I'm even relocating to pursue those dreams just 6 weeks before steemfest.
Because of this we're trying to fundraise with our low budget content to get to america and start a series of videos that will make cryptocurrency much easier to digest and much tastier to the not-so-nerdy. With all of this, we're still uncertain on what we can afford, but we're determined to get to steemfest II somehow. Maybe even to host an event ... that would be the dream ...

I joined Steemit January 7, 2017 and the excitement from SteemFest 1 was still in the air so much so that it made me long for the next event.
So I've basically been looking forward to this event since the time I joined Steemit. I so much believe it to be an amazing opportunity to put faces to the names I've been seeing around and also integrate better into the community.
I'm all for interaction and building a better/stronger community so any opportunity to do this will definitely excite me.
Thanks to Steemit, I've had so many "firsts" in my life this year and SteemFest would be yet another "first" for me in that it would be my first conference (i'm growing up so fast) and also my first time out of my darling country.
By the way, roelandp, surfermarly, demotruk and blueorgy amongst many others are looking forward to seeing me there. You know we wouldn't want to disappoint them 😉.
I intend on blogging about my experiences daily and make use of all the lessons learned to further grow the Nigerian community on Steemit.

Have never travelled in an Airplane before and it will be great to have those Clouds and sky feelings when heading to Portugal. Now that is just the travel part; the interesting part is to see the super humans behind steemit face to face, it is a chance of my life to see few of them and ask them my silly questions about how they get so good at what they do......Submitted-This is my Entry
What a cool idea! There's a 0% chance of me winning, but that won't stop me from trying 😂 I've been running and building my pool route business for 20 years. I haven't gotten more than a 4 day break. Pretty brutal. My Dad passed away 6 months ago from bladder cancer. Been pretty miserable...mamma needs a getaway! I feel like I've been on tilt for the last 3 years. So many pent up emotions, I'm about to snap. There's a million people who probably need this more than I do. I have a roof over my head, a solid infrastructure or friends and family, a stable job, and a dog who comes with me to work everyday. I have been working on an interview and podcast format for the last few months and am so excited to come interview everyone about their experiences with the Steemit community and platform. I am Portuguese myself living abroad, I am definitely going back just to attend Steemfest. What a great opportunity for steemit to shine bright and also for Portugal to be on the forefront of this r(E)volution. Viva Portugal!
I'm still a noob regarding steem, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can and to get involved. But from what I do know; I genuinely believe steem is a ground breaking technology which is going to "change everything"!
Also, I have never visited portugal, and I haven't been on holiday for many years. I really need to get away, and meet some new faces and experience something different.
I would like to go to Lisbon, Portugal to start a Bilberry and Nut farm in the Oeste Subregion of Portugal.
Starting a small business is a challenge for foreigners according to: https://www.justlanded.com/english/Portugal/Portugal-Guide/Business/Self-employment. However, I believe this can be overcome by convincing others on Steemit and presenting the business application office for foreigners with a sound business plan. We could convince them with the possible lucrative exposure for Portugal on Steemit through the intensive farm. Portugal is a small country and would profit immensely by being showcased on Steemit through this farm and its interaction with the community both on Steemit and Portugal. An aeroponics system would not be difficult to implement in the Oeste which is both near the coast (has water) and already a hub for intensive agriculture. We could post the farm's day to day operations on Steemit with photos of the development, bios of new team members with tags to their own Steemit accounts, descriptions of operations, and finally, photos of the actual harvest itself. By attending the Steemfest, I would be able to meet with like minded Steemit users, present the idea to locals, and begin the application process for the farm with a well prepared full business plan along with an anticipated timeline.
I was just a regular kid who didn't fit in with the 'cool' guys. But that wasn't a problem when I was younger, It was when I got older. For me it was really difficult to find a job because I was really shy and not physically strong enough. I had few friends (and still have) that I have spent my free time with (and still spending). But yeah.. I needed money.. And my only source of money were my parents. But my parents couldn't give me it every time I needed money... Ok... enough of crying..
Why I'd like to go? Well my sisters husband who is really close to me that I can even call him my big brother (he is a big steemit user now @good-karma), showed me this site. I used it for my English improvement since it's not my native language. But one thing I noticed is.. That from learning and gaining experience for my English language I also started earning money. Which I didn't even expected. Well yeah it wasn't a lot. But it was something.. For me, a teen that never ever have earned something. In almost a year I learned a lot about steemit. I have started earning even more reward. But of course my growing follower base is more important than that since it really feels good to know that some people actually like what I do.
So now, when there is a chance for me to show my parents that I started 'making a living' I would really like to use this opportunity and make my parents proud. That their son has reached something.. (really weird to write this sentence). And if I get an opportunity I will take my parents to steemfest with me.
*P.S I know that I went off topic a bit.. But I hope you still understand me.
i would love to go, my partner would travel from the US to me in the UK and we would fly, drive, boat to portugal and make to the event, we would do it on a finely tuned shared and transparent budget, we would blog all the way, video, film and interview people at the event blogging hourly while at steemfest till about 6/7pm in the evening with an evening roundup post with audio being shared on soundcloud. please pick me. i watched you all last year in amsterdam and was GUTTED not to have be able to go! - don't leave me hanging at the end of the bridge (and yes, i would be making cinemagraphs there too!)

Ok so I'll be honest here on why I want to go to Steemfest 2, Lisborn.
I'm a 19 year old boy from Assam( Northeast), India. And being a teenager from a middle class family in the 21st century is kinda disheartening.
My dad is a state government public servant, a police, who have a salary of INR 35000($500) and have two loans on our burdens, which didn't gave me a chance to visit places with my family outside Assam. Leave places to visit outside Assam. I've never visited all the places in Assam and Northeast like all of my friends have visited and and every 29 states in India.. I've visited like 4 places only in Assam and that too because of Parkour. And one was through Steemit money. So being honest, I've never visited places to keep memories before I die or never did something that would make my parents proud. As that said, I've never done a travelling through flight as price of tickets are too much for a family like ours.
Being a teenager I too want branded clothes, gaming laptops and a desired bike just like all of my friends/classmates own. But I can't get them for our financial crisis and I don't even want to force my parents for getting any of these. And that is the reason why I'm on Steemit. I want to help myself buy branded clothes, visit places with my parents but I know I can't buy my desired bike from my Steemit wallet as my posts are not that good and have less followers. Or I'm even thinking to deposit my money in banks for my future use or to help pay the loans that my dad is still paying from last 8 years instead of buying a bike or wasting it in clothes, foods or stuffs like that.
And if I win a free trip to Lisborn, half of my dreams would come TRUE and my parents would be proud of me. Cause I've never made them feel proud to give birth to me. Ever! And visiting Lisborn for Steemfest 2 would make 3 of my dreams come true:-
I'll be going for Steem fest from Steem community helped by @joseph to achieve my dream which wasn't full filled in my existing life because of financial problem. But you helped me achieved it and to learn something from Steem fest and also contributing to it.
Even if I won't get selected for a free trip to steemfest2, I won't feel sad because this is the first time I've shared this things with anyone in my life and I'm feeling good. I'm feeling positive.

What a remarkable display of generosity - It's things like this that make the steemit community such a blessing to be apart of (even with my very small presence here). In all honesty I would like to attend to learn more about steemit in general. Knowledge is often brushed aside - and an educated community is a thriving community. It's hard to preach the benefits and future of steemit, when there is so much I still cannot explain. I appreciate the opportunity, and if the stars align such that I am able to attend - it will be an experience of a lifetime for me. Many thanks, I hope to see more from you in the future!

It obvious that it is good time for steemit to scale. I am form Sudan (Africa) and my native language is Arabic so i think i can help introducing steemit to Arab speaker and some African countries so I think steemfest will help me do so.
On the other hand more than 7 month on steemit make me know great people that i wish to meet somehow someday, maybe in steemfest as most of them want to go.
Finally i am a doctor and i have some ideas to make health care provider active in this platform, i might have opportunity to discuss this in steemfest.
I would like to go to lisbon because as a Portuguese child I really want to know where the culture that my parents have taught me at home, I had never before had the opportunity to go to portugal because in my native country venezuela is very difficult to get the money To be able to travel. Besides being able to know portugal for being the country of my parents .. I want to be able to go to steemfest to be able to know much of this wonderful community that conforms steemit, I learned a lot here and I know that I can continue learning

My Dream is journey but still unable to start because of money. Trips are very expensive.

Considering the recent events in Lisbon, that is the coldest dark humor I have seen in a while. I enjoy a laugh as much as the next guy, but the bodies aren't even cold yet.
