Dear Steemians,

Hello Steemit Team for Steemians! Thank you for supporting me the previous time, I know that I am getting closer to achieving that great goal, to be present at the second SteemFest convention.

I have wanted to investigate on my own the impressive ideas of the place where this event will take place, lisbon portugal promises to be a suitable tourist place for all those who want an unforgettable experience and to live one of the moments never seen in the world, to belong to this great experience it gives meaning to life and the way of seeing how this platform has grown in the world, being part of history marks the great trends as was google and facebook in its beginnings. The initiative that @roelandp has taken has been spectacular and we are increasingly filled with being able to be part of what will revolutionize the world in the future.

10 things about Lisbon that you did not know

  1. Lisbon is known as the City of Seven Hills: Santa Catarina, Estrela, Penha de França, San Pedro de Alcántara, Castelo, Graça and Monte.

  2. The pavement of the streets of Lisbon is due to the terrible earthquake of 1755 that devastated the city, the Marquis of Pombal ordered to reuse the debris of the collapsed buildings turning them into paving stones with which to paved the sidewalks.

  3. The statue of Christ the King is a copy of Christ the Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro, since when the Cardinal of Lisbon traveled to the Brazilian city at the beginning of the XXth century, he was so struck by the immense sculpture that on his return to Portugal he began to raise funds to build an equal in Lisbon.

  4. Lisbon has the longest bridge in Europe, the Vasco de Gama, with more than 17 kilometers in length.

  5. It is usually called affectionately the Lisbon lisbon, which means something like "lechuguitas", because in ancient times the city was known as a producer of lettuce.

  6. Although they can be eaten in almost any bakery in Lisbon, it is said that the authentic recipe of cream cakes is only known by those who prepare them in the place where they were born, the Old Confectionery of Bethlehem.

  7. It is always said that the Elevador de Santa Justa was built by a disciple of Eiffel, but the truth is that this contact is not proven and that its architect, Raoul Mesnier de Ponsard, was simply inspired by the techniques and tools applied to large constructions of iron proper of that moment.

  8. Its network of yellow trams has more than a century of history; the tram 28, the most emblematic, runs practically all points of interest in Lisbon.

  9. The famous 25th of April Bridge was originally called Puente de Salazar, but after the overthrow of the dictator during the Revolution of the Carnations was rebaptized to commemorate the establishment of democracy on that historic day.

  10. In 1998 Lisboa hosted the Expo, which coincided with the 500th anniversary of the arrival in India of its most famous navigator, Vasco de Gama. The event was a complete remodeling of the area we now know as the Nations Park.

My initiative for wanting to save and present at this event is very great, it would be the first time I would travel outside of Venezuela, for me this would be very incredible because it is something very special and important for me, I will not lose my hopes of continuing to fight for my goals and my dreams, because who surrenders loses and leaves nothing at sea is drowned.

5 curiosities that explain the magic of Lisbon

Capital city, at the mouth of the Tagus. a city that is modernized but does not intend to lose its historical charm. City port, entrance to the country, and connection to the world, dynamic. Starting point of expeditions and adventures in times when the map of the world was incomplete. A historical center between hills, inhabitants nicknamed as alfacinhas (for the old and intense lettuce cultivation in the surroundings of the capital), and streets crossed by old trams. Lisbon is a beacon of culture, millenary, a destination that in many ways falls in love. We review 5 curiosities that make Lisbon unique, and above all, explain its magic:

1. A city with a thousand corners not to be missed:

In the historic center (and when we talk about history, we speak of one of the oldest cities in Europe) seven hills delimit the urban heart, and give identity to numerous neighborhoods that tread on steep slopes at times too steep. The result is a city with countless panoramic views, viewpoints, and interesting angles. Getting up to them, often requires the help of funicular or elevators, from where you can observe the estuary of the river, its bridges, and the city roofed roofs. A good way to start to fall in love with Lisbon is to walk through every hill and neighborhood, and discover its sights and nooks:

2. A legendary tram

If there is an active, legendary and picturesque tram network in Europe, this is Lisbon's tramway network, operated by a municipal company, with a length of 48 kilometers. Forty of the used vehicles are historical, already part of the postcard of the city. The network has more than a century, and works between 8:00 and 20:00 hours, although it can vary. A visit to the city without going through its streets on one of the trams is an incomplete visit:

3. Details and postcards "only in Lisbon"

As you walk the city for several days, you will begin to sense that there is a soul in this city, a style of its own, a hallmark of identity. A city that does not despise the traces of time, that adores the urban and street art, that adores the color, the good eating, the atmosphere eternally autumnal, although it is full summer or winter in Portugal. Lisbon has its own air, its bohemia, its cultural explosion, and even its whims. Just walk carefully, to discover its unmistakable style:

4. Its curious and remarkable buildings

A tower at the mouth of the river Tajo built to collect taxes and today is one of the symbols of the city (Tower of Bethlehem). An elevator to join two neighborhoods (San Justa Elevator). They are just two examples of the Lisbon stamp, but of course there are more: the Castle of St. George, the Jeronimos Monastery, the National Theater Doña María II, the great urban transformations of each era. In Lisbon you have to follow the trail of time in its buildings and streets:

5. Their neighborhood soul and passion for culture

It could be said that if "all roads lead to Rome", many are diverted to Lisbon. It was one of the oldest settlements in Europe, even older than Rome, a neuralgic port, capital of an empire and a starting point for expeditions to discover part of the world. Today one of the European cultural centers, and with neighborhoods like Alfama, Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto where the city breathes day and night with its activity and bohemian air. Explore this axis is to discover the soul of the city, with its cafes, antique shops, bookstores:
