RE: My road to Steemfest - selling stuff to finance my trip to Krakow

in #steemfest6 years ago

Good on you Eve! I'm also selling stuff and the most recent to go is my Drysuit, which is the final piece of a full set of kit that I sold the rest of over a year ago to invest the money in cryptos. But the drysuit wouldn't sell back then for some reason. Here is a pic of it

it is literally all packaged, wrapped and ready to be picked up by courier tomorrow. A little part of me is sad but I didn't really enjoy much of the diving in the UK. Diving with seals was awesome, but other dives here were just dangerous and I nearly ended up getting swept out to sea on one of my dives in the Mersey estuary so maybe it is best ;-)

Lots of people giving it their all to get to steemfest 3 and I think it is great what you are doing selling all the clutter and especially to help el-cr make the trip with you. Awesome :-)

oh I understand that you are sad to sell it...part of you always thinks "maybe I'll need it at some point", but i figure whatever it is, you can still think about that later if it happens =) Great that you are selling that! I hear you about diving in the UK...pretty cold anyway =)

Ha ha, I sometimes forget that not everyone is a scuba nut like me. A drysuit is like a wetsuit but you have a hose attached to the front connected to the scuba air tank so that you can add air to the inside of the suit. Also, the suit is sealed at the wrists and kneck so that no water gets in. The air that is then added in creates an insulating layer and in partnership with a thermal undersuit, means you can dive in very cold water with less risk of getting hypothermia. I once went on a dive in a local quarry on Christmas eve and it was -2 Celsius at 17 meters at the bottom of the quarry. This is what I mean about UK diving being extreme lol

I much prefer tropical diving on the reef :-)

yeah wow, sounds very confining!!!!! Come to Panama next time Rowan =)
