I haven't had to use a hotel in years so I probably would have been lost too. I tend to investigate everything in the room as soon as I get in and I try not to check in when its dark so I have time to see whats what in the room. Glad you were able to figure it out though. That would have been awkward asking if they had any candles or using a flashlight because you got the room without the light switches. hahaha I can just imagine their looks.
