Real Madrid look to overturn their bad omen against PSG
when the two expendables of European football go head-
to-head at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
The teams last met at the Champions League in the
2015/16 season’s group stage. Madrid got the better of
the French heavyweights with a goal-less away draw and
a narrow 1-0 home win. Madrid eventually went to lift the
trophy from there and repeated the feat next year as well.
This is PSG’s sixth appearance at the knockout phase on
the bounce and they managed to go through on four
occasions. But at the same stage last season, they were
at the receiving end of a dramatic come back from Real’s
arch rivals FC Barcelona. Despite taking an insatiable 4-0
lead in the first leg, PSG stumbled to a 6-1 defeat in the
