Maybe Steem wasn't designed to do "gaming" but I can't think of another blockchain that can do that right now!
Recently there was a post from other source where #XP Coin club was mentioned. As far as I know, this is the first digital currency enabling one to earn through playing video games and participating in related activities. XP Coin is cryptocurrency based on Proof Of Stake rather than on the Proof of Work. Im certain you already know that.
