You can't pour from an empty cup.
You have to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else. This is why on a plane, they tell you to put your mask on first before trying to help someone else.
If someone powers up their account, they can then be a bigger help to others here, and empower them.
I think that Steemit will succeed if and only if there is a distribution of the power from the top...
It is why I called for a charity project based on Steemit!!!
Where is the top, and where is the bottom, and what sort of charity are you looking for? Why are you posting here when you can be carrying food to the food kitchen down the road or the beggar out on the street? Personally I think anyone using the word "charity" on steem is a hypocrite. Less talking, more doing.

I've been down the street several time. I've been giving money away... I'm talking about giving solar power and water pump in the third world countries. Providing them some knowledge to give them the ability to grow their own food.
All that using people with power. It's a thing to nourish the greed of people. It's another to nourish their mind!!!
@hoopatang thats what i thought of powering up. il just try if it works then maybe i should power up more
@alexoz thats basically what ive been trying to do this past week, getting active on other author's posts unfortunately i feel i dont contribute enough specially on blogs i find to be very useful in promoting this platform. i rarely see my upvotes give value to other user's posts. this lead me to decide to power up a bit, test if it could help others. ive seen good posts with 75 upvotes that rarely earn that much and thought if i had power behind my votes , it would have made a difference.
People talk about powering up with their SD, talking about putting money into the system to lock them for 2 years or so.
