RE: Advice for migrating bloggers on posting Existing Content onto Steemit

in #steemhelp9 years ago

REPOST, DON'T JUST LINK: Whilst it may be tempting to say 'screw it' and simply post a link to your existing blog on Steemit. This is unlikely to capture the up-votes you require. Even if the reader clicks the link, reads your post and likes it, they are unlikely to thank you for having to navigate away with an upvote.

I'd advice against this point. Linking is way more worth SEO wise. Copy&Pasting a Post can punish either your blog (most likely) or the steemit post in google.

Better write a short introduction and link with a read more.

other than that, very nice tips!

Ya the duplicate content "may" hurt you. Google now takes into consideration which website published the content first and any secondary post are pushed down in their algorithm. That said, only having one copy of your content on the interwebs is advantageous.

That means different front-ends of the Steem blockchain will be competing to place content on their site before others in order to optimize via Google's algorithm.

that also means we can expect a more optimized front-end soon. steemit is still lacking this stuff
