Hunter's comment

Instead of letting spent coffee ground go to waste, Dunkin worked with Blue Marble Biomaterials to extract the natural oils in the coffee ground to create sustainable biofuel to meet the power needs of a small house.

The world's first house powered by coffee!

  • Every 170 pounds of spent coffee grounds yields about one gallon of fuel and is used in a standard biofuel generator

What's amazing is that the power generated can be used to operate the house with many electrical conveniences like the washer-dryer, a jacuzzi tub, kitchen appliances, and more.

Check out the link to explore the house with the 3D showcase.

Image and video are from Dunkin.
