Bio-Domes aren't a substitute but a great cost-effective addition to existing waste water treatment facilities and lagoons (an artificial pond to process wastewater)
The main component of these systems are bacteria which can eat substances that are toxic for humans.
So the basic idea is to place bacteria at the right time in the right place to accelerate the waste water treatment
Bio-Domes have a film which packed in such a way that the surface area for bacteria comes to 2800 square feet/unit (1 foot = 30.48 cm)
Once every 20 years we need to take them out of the lagoons and replace air hoses (low maintenance costs)

We all know how treating of water is so essential and with the much needed water, we have to make sure it is surely purify. I love this idea of making sure it is been met up with need. Am still sure there is still cheaper source compared to this.

thanks for your comment. I didn't think about it (excessive microbes to environment in the case of damage of this system). Bio-Doms are usually placed in the lagoons (an artificial pond to process wastewater). I hope they can be isolated from rivers, seas, oceans when needed.
If I am not mistaken, after this process, the water will undergo several and common water filtration and curing. Great hunt!

Woo wow wow! It does not only look cool, but it does cool thing as well! As a Chemical Engineering students, I could definitely tell you that waste treatment is absurdly expensive due to the underlying technology required which I experienced first-hand during my Final Year Project! Nice share!

This very good thing. Waste water treatment is huge deal. A lot of cities and towns all over the world don't have this things, because they are expensive. With this maybe more areas will afford it.

When used in a wastewater lagoon, the enhanced biology is capable of accelerating the nitrification of ammonium and the subsequent denitrification of nitrates and nitrites.
It would be perfect for the environment and the earth and also it is low costed, but I think it should be researched very carefully because it also includes bacteria, but when it is proved that it is %100 harmless for human,it will be revolution for the mankind and the earth. thanks for your comment. I was thinking about it (possible harm because of bacteria) too. Indeed bacteria as any other organism eat something and excrete something. So it's perfectly possible that bacteria can produce something which is not useful for human health. Water is the biggest and crucial issue of the modern world. It is the duty of all of us to utilize the water as per our needs. Industrial revolution has destroyed the purity of this essential element of the life. So, I do believe this is an amazing idea to save the water for our coming generations, Brilliant hunt @alexbiojs :)
This is a great option for areas without a wastewater treatment facility, yet. What's also interesting is that the Bio-Domes can also be used to treat the causes of algae blooms and other similar water quality issues from our waterways. Hopefully, governments and other industrial companies will consider using it to aid in their efforts to keep our waterways clean.

Need of the humanity, and its most needful in developing countries where safe drinking water is still a distance dream and majority of the population rely on water sources that are not free of bacteria. I checked the site, it dose not have a price quote, also looking at the system , apparently its not quite portable. So I would expect, the cost of porting it to developing countries may be little more and government initiatives can fund that.

Great hunt, very practical for developing countries where clean water is a privilege. Not only to countries spend money treating water, but households spends extra money to ensure drinking water is safe. Anything that brings down the cost of water treatment and makes it faster is a bliss. Developed countries can also reduce water treatment costs using this. Truly a great hunt.

Bio Domes is a new way of water treatment.. It is very cost effective and very low maintenance cost.. Waste water are needed indeed to be treated to make it useful again.. We will be out of water in the future if we will not used it.. GREAT HUNT.. It is very helpful to the community.

Waste water is main problem in the world. In others side people not care about how to minimise using water as needed and in other side some people are needed water in their life. Bio-domes really useful, and I think governments in every country needed this device to make wastewater can be used again.

For the treatment of waste waters a large area for bacterial growth and oxygen is needed.
This edging product is a great idea to increase the surface where bacterias will grow, but in a small space where oxygen will flow from tubes.
The originality of the solution is in a ball that increases the surface for bacterial growth at 2800 square feet.
Maintenance practically does not exist ...
Every 20 years !! the oxygen supply pipes need to be changed.
This is a really useful product and will help many to comply with the legal regulations on permitted sewage pollution.

Waste water is very important problem in my country india . This product can solve this problem . But for individual this may be costly but government should take initiative.

Well, there's a bacteria here on the planet for everything here on the planet so I get it. Running out of water here on earth will never happen as most of this planet is water but potable water is a different story as we humans pollute the hell out of this planet. I like it. I do believe it is beneficial now if we can only get the fluoride out of the water.

@alexbiojs Its a super duper product. I work on ship and we have certain authorised system to treat grey water before disposing so I don't know how much this system can make difference on ship but surely its a gr8 product to save our earth from waste water. I hope govts start adopting it soon. I will defintly dig more about this product. thanx for bringing this in front.
