Steemeum is a new application that is built on top of the Steem blockchain. This application is a miner that mines Steem cryptocurrencies in the same fashion as Electroneum which can be described as Pseudo Mining or what the Steemeum team calls "Proof of time" mining.
Electroneum is one of two mineable crypto in the world that can be mined using this unusual algorithm, the other being Phoneum. Using this algorithm the developers created a way to compute mining rewards to those who are participating in the mining activity. In the same way the Steemeum team was able to formulate a way to create mining rewards coming from the Steem blockchain.

PS: It’s always a good idea to support developers of Steem apps when hunting their apps. That can be done by setting them as beneficiary for the hunt, they will then receive a share of the hunt’s rewards. Remember, without them the hunt wouldn’t exist in the first place.
