Thanks to steemhunt we now know that biodegrable cutlery can be made of corn, fungi and sugar, but did you know Potato plastic is now an option too!?

It's literally only made out of potato starch and water and in 2 months it's totally gone, back into the earth, I'm sure our ocean friends wouldnt mind these ending up in their home's over plastic cutlery- If this was the standard, single-use plastics wouldn't be such a big deal at all!

:point_right:I'm sure your hunt is "COOL". So i decided to give support:point_left:
This is totally echo-green support @dayleeo. No need to worry about environmental pollution due to plastic again.
thanks @calprut :)
However, before I can approve it. Please.
Could you use a URL shortener on your link?Hello dear @dayleeo. I love this product.
When having the addition of: ?Ref=steemhunt does not work correctly.
But when Retreating, it works wonderfully.
Thanks in advance.

that's so weird, i've never seen that one before! thanks for the heads up- all updated :D
It's a potato plastic made of potato starch. If it stays firm even when it touches water, people will use it instead of plastic. I hope many of these products are made for the environment.
thanks for your comment @supergiant!
It looks weird but I would be definitely in favor of this replacing current plastic cutlery so we all don't choke on all that plastic that's in the waters and soil out there.
Wow this is a double gainer you can use this as a cutlery and also as a fertilizer. Problem is if it will be dumped on lands or in the waste bin .
well, either way it ends up disintegrating and less load on our recycling systems :D
I read that cutleries, straws and saltbags can be made of potato plastic, it is a big development for environment. They will be more harmless. Awesome hunt.
Great product for recycling and nature. The transformation of plastic in nature is quite detrimental for a long time and soil yield. USEFUL AND AWESOME HUNT ! :)
Nice hunt @dayleeo!
This is a nice idea to help in reducing the amount of unnecessary waste that we have to dispose of everyday. The single use cutlery would be one of the many perfect uses that this 'Plastic Potato' could provide.
With the abundance of the good old potato, there will always be enough supply to keep up with demand.
It would be good if they could make take-away trays or containers from potato starch too. That would save a lot of wasted plastic that takes several years to degrade, where this only takes 2 months.
What else could be made from this stuff, I wonder!
@donkeysworld.
i agree! it seems pretty easy to form to any shape once you have the recipe right, such a cool idea i bet people could even make it at home pressed into a simple 3d printed mould- love that :D
3D printed 'Potato Plastic'. I'd never even thought of that.
That's such a great idea!

ive fixed that now, thanks for your comment :D
I love anything that has to with making our environment better than what it is currently. The invention of biodegradable plastics would solve the arrays of problems posed by the non-degradable plastics that currently filled our homes. I really do hope that the potato starch can be synthesized in laboratory because cultivation of land to plant potato for plastic production would come with its own problems.
that's true, but remember that process hopefully means a swap over from plastic production, so i'm betting things would even out if it meant fewer plastic processing plants...
Another green and eco-friendly alternative to plastics. It would help solve the issues we are facing due to numerous use of plastics which due to their non biodegradable nature are clogging the Earth and water bodies.
Thanks for sharing
100% agreed, thanks for your comment @mcyusuf!
Another eco-friendly hunt from @dayleeo. Plastics are always annoying. A great way to give some nutrients back to the soil and the water will be better for it. There is a win for the whole ecosystem with this product.
You Killed This, Now Recoil!
thanks so much @golddeejay!
Wow~! Potato plastic is amazing. It is eco-friendly and great for the environment. Thanks for sharing cool product.
Great innovation from jamesdysonaward coming out with a product Potato Plastic. Potato Plastic being eco friendly should help governments in banning plastic products as much as possible due to its hazardous nature by mass adoption of Potato Plastic products. Nice Hunt.
best part is it was invented by a college kid! love it!
I agree, if single use plastics are made out of these raw products, our environment would never have to suffer this bad. Great hunt!
thanks so much @adeline24 !
Excellent, a more eco friendly plastic type product is the way forward. If it is strong and sturdy enough to be usable, but then will degrade down to compost basically in a couple of months, that would be awesome. Replacing plastics and Styrofoam in food supply and sales uses would be a big step forward.
yes i think wed be in much better shape if we quit wasting single use cutlery, i mean we only use it for a few minutes while eating and then toss it out, doesnt seem like a good plan to me :)
Awesome hunt.
It serves the purpose and then decomposes, leaving no impact on environment.
Excellent I love this kind of hunting since they help to maintain the environment. Thanks for sharing.
Good to see development in bio-degradable plastic field. But I feel 2 months time is very short. I know a vendor close to my city who manufactures a bio-degradable plastic that disintegrates in 6 months but people here are skeptic of using that too. So acceptability takes time and we need to take that into account while innovating such products.
For cutlery, I prefer the edible cutlery that has become available now a days.
May this product becomes successful too!
What a great concept, to help our environment. I did not get any details on how to buy, is it only at concept level ? or we can buy it somewhere. Probably Govt should make it a rule to use this , instead of plastic..
I am glad to see so many eco friendly hunts here. Using potato plastic instead of plastic would be great for the environment. I hope it will be more common in the future. Perfect hunt.
thanks very much!
All of us should be more careful wth the environment and Potato Plastic seems to be a great way for it. Thanks for sharing this perfect hunt.
Never heard of this. This is really cool. If everybody starts using this, the world plastic pollution will come to the end.
This has got to be one of the most unusual and unique cutlery concepts I've ever seen. But that's a good thing. Lol! It definitely looks more interesting to use than your everyday plastic utensil. And I like how it doesn't really require a habit change because people like you and me can just use them like regular plastic utensils.
