The issue highlighted is because most of the time it is on the developers to integrate (manually) the data feed for every nation. AFAIK there is still no common standard for such feed and thus many cities have different data formats.
Additionally, unless the app/platform is really large - and even then - the cities themselves don’t truly care about adding their data feed to third party platforms. Their scope is more often than not on their own websites, platforms. Outdated thinking yet a reality.
