It seems all social network platforms are adding ways for users to earn from them. We recently talked about the new Instagram Television which will serve ads in the future as a means of monetization for users. Now, Facebook is also working on a new group subscription feature to help to administrators earn money from their Facebook group.
Facebook is currently testing subscription fees for groups, where group admins can charge between $4.99 and $29.99 per month for membership. This will be very helpful to administrators who offer valuable, rich contents to readers, and also invest their time and energy to maintain their groups.
The Facebook Group Subscription is still in test phase with a small number of groups, and the company said “for members, they’re now able to sign-up and manage their subscription through the Facebook app for iOS and Android.”
While some admins are requesting for tools to help them continue to grow their community, Facebook says: “Subscription groups were created to make it easier for admins to provide these experiences with built-in tools, and to save them time so they can focus on offering members-only content.”
Facebook further stressed that it will use what it learns from this pilot to help admins offer more to their members and continue to invest in their communities. Interestingly, there are rumors that this group subscription feature will likely be rolled out to WhatsApp Admins in the future which isn't bad at all.

A good one but how many will be willing to pay just to join a facebook group? Well i never can tell.
Facebook should look critically into it before they destroy what they started.

Lol, I agree, it doesn't really make sense for them to introduce something of this nature just like that, I'm sure a lot of people won't pay except they can get some knowledge or tool that can enable them gain more money than they paid to join the group in the 1st instance
I think that was the same question people had about Twitch subscription. So based on precedence the answer would be depends on the content.
If its like as boring as just a bunch memes pit together definitely not but if the content is chat with Johnny Depp or even a streamer like DrDisRespect or Ninja, i think people be scrambling to pay.

Everyone wants to defeat their competitors but seriously I don't anyone will pay for being a member in a facebook group unless they are benefiting something that is worth it from the group
