Lakka Open-Source
Turning the Switch into the perfect emulator

It's absolutely undeniable that the Nintendo Switch is an absolutely amazing console. Portable when you need it, and Nintendo has proved to deliver a good amount of quality first-party games for the device.
But, a great handheld hybrid console like this one, that would be an absolutely killer emulation machine. That's exactly what Lakka, an open-source Linux distribution specifically aimed for use with the Nintendo Switch, does.
It's still in early stages of development and there are still some noticeable bugs, but because this is open source, anyone can join in and improve the product. As you may or may not know, homebrew has been possible on the Switch console due to a hardware flaw, opening the door for incredibly cool projects such as this one.
In contrast to other some other Switch products, Lakka does not condone piracy and it's just meant to play your old games on your Nintendo Switch. There are 45 different consoles, meaning you can play anything games such as NES, SNES, N64, Sega Mega Drive, Game Boy, PlayStation Portable and even PlayStation One games. Who knows, perhaps even emulated GameCube games will be possible in the future.
As I stated above, this open source project is still in its infancy and the Switch isn't an ideal emulation machine just yet, but it's incredibly promising and I can't wait to see how it will evolve over the coming months.

It's sad that the battery issues are pretty severe, but I'm hoping they'll fix it soon. Are you following the Switch homebrew scene? :)
Less that I would want to
