Crafting Plastic Studio has created an all natural, all sustainable compostable bioplastic made from corn starch, sugar and cooking oil.
Known as Nuatan, this product may be able to replace all the plastic packaging we know because it is so safe that even fish can eat it.
Crafting Plastics Studio is expecting the material to be granted a food-safety certificate which means that it could be used to package food and drinks making its uses almost limitless.
The designers claim the material can withstand temperatures of over 100 degrees Celsius (212º F) without losing integrity and it has a lifespan of up to 15 years.
In an effort to change the negative attitude towards perishable materials, Crafting Plastics Studio has launched a collection of luxury ready-to-wear products and disposable objects, exploring the material’s new aesthetics and material limit

No doubt plastic is being widely used in every field but it is damaging and polluting the environment badly, it,s nice to see a simple alternative in the form of biodegradable plastic and in my opinion it,s far better for both the environment and our health. Great Hunt

Its a great development and it will save a lot of sea creatures which die from plastic bags we throw out. Now, as the fish will be able to eat this plastic so they will survive. Overall this product is highly useful for our environment.
I fully support the implementation of this biological alternative to the current plastic packaging. I don't want harmful plastic getting into rivers, lakes or oceans.
wow. what an invention. this thing is a needy and revolution in making our ecosystem balance. we have destroyed many of our land and water sources with our litter. plastic litters are one of the main reason for the ecological problem in our soil and water. this is food, not plastic, just feed the need. throw all your plastic waste in the sea... fantastic hunt.

This is quite unbelievable. No one would worry about plastic pollution if the world can adopt this kind of plastic technology. Apart from the fact that it will naturally degrade, it will also provide free foods for fishes in the ocean. Nice one.

(2) It will be Eco friendly and can solve the disposal issue of plastic wastes.

Most product fail to compete with plastic when it comes to its price.
But it's a big plus that this is bio-degradable and fish-friendly. Unfortunately ecological & environmental cost are not taken into account in today's commerce, else this will win handsdown.
You are so right about that @xyzashu but, I think once Nuatan is granted a food-safety certificate, it's application would be so wide that we'd see cost drop drastically

Great hunt about eco - friendly plastic; it can reduce the pollution. I think in coming times, it will certainly replace the plastic we use today.
This is crucial. We pollute out environment so much that something has to be done. Without this, we are looking at a day when our ecosystem is permanently destroyed.
I love this, a plastic that can wisthand averagely high temperature yet easily degradable (I like the Fact it can be eaten by fishes as stated in the description). Using this plastic is you po laying your part in keeping ecosystem better and safer.

This is a great project. There are a lot of plastic alternatives out there, but this one takes the cake when it comes to aesthetics. It really looks good and the idea of a luxury product line is a great way to get more people to try it. Hope it gets the food-grade certification, so it could be used to replace plastics in the food industry, where a lot of the plastics we use come from.
I love when I see sustainable products like this that can be also used in a creative and consciously way like in fashion. Bioplastics like Nuatan are so great for the planet since helps reducing non-biodegradable waste and environment's contamination. I think we have to promote and expand more its use in the daily life because sadly plastic waste causes the death of a lot of marine species that naively ingest it and also causes islands of garbage in our oceans.
