What is it?

You can think of Eth2Phone as an easy to use online portal which allows you send funds from your eth wallet to anyone simply by entering their phone number. The reciever doesn't need a wallet and Eth2Phone gives the all the tools the reciever will need to recieve their crypto.

Here's how Eth2Phone describe themselves:

"Eth2Phone service allows you to send ether to anyone simply identifying them by the phone number. "

What are the main features?

Here's what they say on their website:

How does it work?

So the number of steps involved are quite vast and to prevent me from missing an important peice of information, you can read if for yourself on their FAQ. Here's a link to go directly to the question:

Pros

  1. It's completely opensource, so if you want to check out the code, report an issue, etc you can do this using the link below:
    https://github.com/eth2phone/eth2phone-dapp
  2. They offer the ability for others to integrate into the Eth2Phone service.
  3. They don't store your phone number on the blockchain, was probarly obvious but a nice one to mention.
  4. You don't need to already have a wallet to recieve funds, they provide a link which will allow the reciever to get what they need to gain access to the eth (through download a wallet on demand).
  5. I think this helps break down the barrier of crypto to more users, you can easily see how a crypto enthusatist could pay one of their friends using this without the worry that they wouldn't be able to access the funds.
  6. Currently they support a wide selection of different wallets and allow a method for others to be intergrated.

Cons

  1. Currently it doesn't support the sending of ERC20 tokens, but the good news is that it's something they're working on. Even better, because it's opensource you can help them in doing it.
  2. Currently you can't send non-fungible tokens, but they're working on it.

It’s Awesome! @tobias-g | Nice Hunt!

Note: This is just ”my personal opinion”, not intended to “judge” the reviews you have made.

Pros:
The concept is simple but powerful. We can send ETH to address with mobile phone number. Is not it a little strange ?, but it turns out this concept works.

This ensures easy recording of sender and recipient addresses, and ensures the recipient is the correct person.

Cons:
Nothing. Although very simple, but Eth2Phone can be very helpful.
