This type of service would be pretty awsome on the Steem blockchain really. Another benefit we have here (other than no gas fees) would be that it would be much easier to remember the e-mail address, since usernames are so much easier to remember than wallet addresses for Ethereum.

The e-mail you mean? Not necessarily, because it is already possible to encrypt memos on the Steem blockchain.
E mail yes. Memos are kind of basic and primitive.
