RE: Say hello to the NettyVoter Bid Bot - 0.10 SBD minimum bid, 50% votes, 1.2 hour periods

in #steemit-dev8 years ago (edited)

I am not getting angry as much as annoyed that you just want to say "fix it" and expect me to go solve the world's issues.

If you have a message you wish to send, even through me or minnow support, why not just ask buddy? I can easily promote your post thru minnow support....

It takes time to research and gather information and make a post. I am self employed and making sure I can eat, my friend. I prioritize my work to that which helps pays my bills.

I likely still would have got around to making a post about this had you just simply reminded me and politely asked. Instead you are rather forceful and telling me that I am not performing up to your standards.

And once again, @promoted is a RANDOM user. Not affiliated with Steem, SteemIt, MinnowSupport, or myself. He has made his own program with his own rules. I have no power, despite what you may say, over forcing him to change his programs rules.

It is very nice that you are so concerned about waht this guy does with his SP, but in real life if you saw someone giving money to homeless people would you freak out this much?

Sort:

I am being honest and blunt. I do not see the need to beat around the bush when you are saying things like why should I flag people and other irrelvant things I have never asked for. I also never asked you to fix it like change the code. I simply thought you could talk to someone about it.

It is not being forceful to ask for help. Of course when you trivialize the thing I am asking for help about then emotions will run high.

Where do you suggest I find this @promoted to ask him? We have tagged in numerous times and he hasn't joined the conversation.

So what do I do next?

Do you want me to write a post? Why can't you do that yourself, link me, and politely ask for me to promote it?

I am frustrated when people just expect me to do things for free and dont consider how much time and effort this shit takes me. I appreciate your support, I will continue to support you, but I will likely not go much beyond a basic post that tags @promoted yet again and suggests that he implement a blacklist feature or only vote on users that put a minimum in the promoted feature.

Btw, if you figure out some magic trick of getting users to respond, then get me some witness votes from @thejohalfiles or @hendrikdegrote or @pumpkin. Steem has a SHITTY notification system and not everyone gets on SteemIt.chat

Hey @promoted, you are voting $0.05 for users when they promote a post with $0.01. Please stop.

@promoted is a bot. Be another 50 years before it comes in for a conversation I would say. You are making yourself a public figure so must realize that people will come to you with issues that are in your area of expertise. That is just what you signed up for. I understand you probably have a 1000 people asking you for this and that. That would for sure bug the hell out of me but that is what social media is about. Community and helping eachother.

I know you want to make money but fixing isssues like this is what is going to make you money. Steemit is in beta so fixing exploits and bugs should be a priority when found. Not when the issue becomes widespread.

Again all I expected from you was not to be dismissive. Wow this turned into a whole thing. haha I am sorry about that at least. Really regret this convesation is on your bot page. Don't mind if you flag it.

Nah i agree with transparency. This isn't a bad conversation at all. I am watching TV and taking a break from work, just replying to you cause like you said I signed up to be engaged.

If it was something I could do man I would. The best way to combat this behavior is to, like I mentioned, get the true whales in #steemitabuse to help. People like @nextgencrypto stay in there the majority of the day using their MASSIVE SP for shit like this.

I get it that you feel comfortable with me, and I enjoy that, but I am a small fish in the pond here. I have been on Steem for less than 2 months. I'm glad I am becoming known and a type of public figure. That is my goal.

But someone in the infancy of their campaign should be choosy about the battles they choose to fight.

If a user is doing stupid shit, a few flags here and ther often compel them to learn better.

It is such a waste of SP though. Anything promoted for less than $1 will most likely never be seen so why even have it as an option. I guess I came to you with it because I have talked to you a few times and thought netuso would know what to do ^^

I plan on investing in Steemit slowly but surely for the next couple years and am only trying to look out for my own investment. To do so means I can't ignore easy bugs. I just don't see why they would be ignored I guess. Just in my head it is something that could be fixed in 30 minutes once the right person saw it.

You type lightning fast.

That I do (type fast).

I dropped your info, the link to this thread, and the link to your other thread in #steemitabuse for you. Perhaps they have a creative solution

Thanks m8

At this stage I should leave you be with a thank you :)

I do know it is hard and you only have two hands. I may also be a bit short tempered at the moment but I have good reason to be. Check out my last post if your curious. It is a depressing read so I wouldnt really recommend it haha
