RE: Say hello to the NettyVoter Bid Bot - 0.10 SBD minimum bid, 50% votes, 1.2 hour periods

in #steemit-dev8 years ago (edited)

So lets say the bot has 0 bids.
Alice bids 0.5 SBD.
Bob bids 0.25 SBD.
And lets say the bot vote is worth $2.
Alice will get a vote for 66% that is worth about $1.33.
Bob will get a vote for 33% that is worth about $0.67.
Alice profited 532%
Bob profited 268%.

at $1.63 value with one bidder at 0.250 SBD that returns 652%
at $2 value with one bidder at 0.250 SBD that returns 800%

So yes, you are absolutely right and wise to notice that the bidders that are placing $1+ bids with so many in the period are likely to not get a return.

It is like a casino/gamble but it is entirely transparent.

It votes at 100% power, so you can calculate when it will vote.
The bids are public.
The votes are public.

It can be used wisely ... or it can be used in a way that benefits the bot manager.

I wouldn't discourage you from writing a program to watch the bids to the bot and perform that calculations and bids automatically to optimize returns. That would be a lot of effort that deserves a reward

Thanks for the clarification. So it is basically a @booster or @bellyrub with less SP and 2 hours instead of ~2.4?

Sadly I am no programmer.

That is my bad!! I meant to put 2.4 and wrote 2 over and over. Fixing it now!
