7 hours from now...

Since Steemit is a blockchain-based social media platform, the blockchain can "prove" a content origination/originator with its time and date stamps, right? So, why do post show up for me as "User XXX posted this 7 hours from now". I assume it's a setting, how do I change that? Also, how do I subscribe or "follow" a post so I'm notified when a new reply is posted? Thanks!
