I just discovered how to use instant messenger for Steemit before it is created!

in #steemit8 years ago

We have all heard about how the instant messenger service is coming to Steemit well I just figured out how to use it before it is even out!

How to use my version of instant messenger!

1. It is very simple all you do is log on to Steemit first

2. Go to your wallet

3. Choose transfer Steem

4. Enter the username of who you wish to send a message to

5. Choose a very small amount such as .01 or .0001 Steem unless you wish to give the person a lot of money.

6. You enter your message as a memo that you wish to send to the user

The only problem with this is that the message will be public for anyone to see on the blockchain but if that is ok with you then go ahead and message away!!! This is my life hack for how to use instant messenger before instant messenger is out for release!

The other person on the other end will be able to see the message in their wallet history and see that you sent them a welcome message through the wallet and they will notice their account is slightly bigger then before!!! I sent a few messages last night to test this out to random people hopefully people aren't mad about the money I sent them at least!!! Haha

Very innovative, luckily my Steem was on zero, so I looked instantly to see who had given me the little bit that had appeared.

Nice

Wow. Brilliant man. Never thought of that before. Just noticed a lot of steemians have been using it in very funny ways.

horrrayyy and whats about privacy messages?

These messages will be public on the block chain. The only way to do private messages for now is to give the person your e-mail address and e-mail each other until they officially release instant messenger for the website.

Looks cool...cheers for sharing

How i wish theres an opt in choosing whether its a private message or a public one. Private for some who wants to do weird things to the receiver. (asking for a number) lol.

You can also give each other your full names and find them on Facebook and message on there.

This method is excellent draw attention to your message. :)
but this method is not suitable for beginners as answers.
You can also write your e-mail in comments or Skype or something else.

Nice guide for new users, well done!
I saw a heap your messages to a few people go past on my test version of steemviz so thought I'd check it out :)

If people want private messaging on the blockchain, use pgp like I did a few hrs ago

This is quite ingenious. what happens if many people choose to do this go one at the same time?

maybe steemit developed a secret message, all free!
