I tried to put in a bit more effort to fix the problem.
"There is this new platform that is supposed to make it easier to monetize your content, no matter what kind it is.
Just create an account and start writing! I've seen many people publish their own books there already, chapter by chapter. Some get few cents, some even hundreds of dollars per chapter. It all depends on how much following you can gather.
So building a 50$ a month revenue might not happen over a night or even a month or two, but it's very doable in long term if you put in the effort.
Personally, I'm not a much of an writer, but I've posted few artworks of mine and I've gained around 20 dollars for them in total. Which is pretty huge for me personally since I'm only a hobbyist!
Oh and the site is called steemit.com if you want to give it a try!"
I might have gone full shill on that one but it's the truth

Haha, I feel the same way, and its not like I was constantly talking about Reddit everwhere 6 years ago neither, cause back then it was far superior than anything else. Now times are changing. ;)
So you're an old timer then. I think I've been using Reddit for 3 years max regularly now. Before that I used to visit 4chan, hah. Those were the times.
Just saw their steal the flag shenigans, they haven't changed at all. You should check it out if you have missed it.
Good to hear you feel the same way about steemit now, builds up my confidence also even though I do share the feeling but everyone always have their doubts.
I've yet to gone and try market steemit outside much, really. I'm waiting for communities and then really start the work. If you're looking to start some of your own communities, feel free to get in touch if you need a moderator!
I will definitely keep you in mind, man! I've been trying to spread the word here and there, even included in my free time within games, etc. Its always fun when someone actually recognizes the name and knows about cryptos too.
I never was much of a 4channer, but I hear they are driving Shia nuts, hahah!
It's hard to get people to listen or interested when crypto is the topic. Not really sure why. Maybe even the slightest complexity is a total turn off or people don't like to try out new things before they are proven. But I can't really blame them since crypto is still in the innovators or early adopters phase.
Most people will be using crypto without realizing it in the future, I guess. Or they just know that it uses blockchain, like it is with the internet.
And either Shia is stubborn as hell or he likes the game he has with 4chan. Can't see any other reason for him to continue. And for those who don't know what I'm talking about, check this for laughs:
Remember you can always mention the subreddit r/steemit. Its not so active currently but there are some helpful links in the sidebar if people have more questions!
(The subreddit and its future is a work in progress.)
Ah, well next time. r/steemit should be given some love, maybe someone could come up with a script that would automatically add the top trending posts from here to over there?
