Playing around
First of all, I'm not a developer, at least not yet, but I like the idea that anyone with a little bit of knowledge can create an app on the steem platform. There are several APIs to choose from. I had a look at steemjs as I feel is the easier one for me to get started. To get started to play around, of course. The documentation for steemjs is getting better and better, there's a huge list of methods in there and I hope that soon the documentation will provide details on the properties of those methods as well.
The Fee
Having said that, I stopped at one method that I found a property that I cant figure it out. The method is for creating an account,
steem.broadcast.accountCreate
witch has the following properties
wif, fee, creator, newAccountName, owner, active, posting, memoKey, jsonMetadata
Now, most of the properties are strait forward but one in particular I found it hard to find a good explanation on what it should be. I'm talking about the fee property.
I've tried to search for a good example of how should I establish what the fee should be or how to calculate it.
I'm not sure how many replies I'll have for this questions but I'll shot it anyway.
Is there a standard fee imposed by the steem platform? If there is, what's the amount?
If there is no standard fee, can it be calculated? If yes, how to calculate it?
Thanks in advance for your time to reply
## PS
Thanks to @revo I found the answer. The fee is calculated by multiplying 30 to account_creation_fee
whitch you can find it on [steemd.com](https://steemd.com) website currently with a value of 0.200. That means the fee is now 6 Steem
There's an algorithm to calculate the fee. It works out to roughly 6 Steem. I'll see if I can find a link to it for you.
Edit: check out the steemconnect section in this post.
Thanks, I thought that it should be a way to calculate it. Really appreciate your time to reply.
Thanks again, that post explain all the details that I need to calculate the fee. It even point out how to calculate the delegation amount for the other method to create an account.
