Have you ever heard about Warren Buffet's first investing strategy ? I bet you don't. Why?
Because its generally considered that his first investment strategy was stock picking of "Pink Sheet" stocks. Pink Sheets are the lists of the stocks which are listed on the over-the-counter (OTC)market. Those stocks are listed on OTC because they do not meet minimal criteria for listing on the national stock exchange.
I don't want to make you bored by these things. Important think is this type was not Warren's first style of investing. The truth is that he discovered his first investment strategy when he was a small kid. This strategy is highly related with horse racing.
Take a look on this old picture. Do you see those people behind the race. All of them were betting. If you are not familiar with horse racing or betting don't worry. All you need to know is that you can take a bet on your favorite horse or you can bet that he will end up at top 3 , top 5 so on . Warren was a smart kid and he knew that some of those people may make a mistake. They can accidentally throw away a winning ticket (1st, top 3, top 5 .. so confusing). He picked up all the tickets after race and he won almost all the time. This was a risk free trade for him. You can find this story in the book Snowball. Best book I ever read.
Believe or not, this story has something to do with steemit as well. I am sure that you know that your payouts are split to first payout (after 24 hours) and second payout (after 30 days). For those who doesn't know about it here is the video from @marketingmonk (thank you)
The "second payout" is yours risk free ticket. Sometimes you can feel that your best post haven't been seen by many people. They might miss your best post in yours early stages. Maybe you just thing that post deserves more attention. There is nothing wrong when you remind your best work of the month at the end of the period. Don't forget that you lose your chance to get pay after 30 days.
Just an example: I think this post was my best in steemit so far link
