For thoses of you that don't know @guerrint was pretty active on the platform last year when steemit first started. She posted her Makeup Tutorial and whales rewarded her with a cool $31k.
Regardless of how most people feel this did bring a lot of attention to the platform. Some people were unhappy because they felt she should not have received so much money for such a simple video. After that video she went on the street and was promoting steemit and was even sent to Steemfest.
I recently got back on the platform myself after a long hiatus so I figured I would check to see how all of the "famous" Steemias were doing. I checked her profile (had to do some googling as I could not remember her name) and it looks like she hasn't been active on the platform for over 6 months.
I checked out her wallet and it looks like even though she stopped using the platform she is cashing out.
The last withdrawal was 20 days ago to poloniex but given their issues she probably has her transactions stuck.
Now I'm not trying to start anything but I am curious as to why she would quit the platform after being so successful using it?
Also this transaction comment from @pfunk also peaked my curiousity.
I feel that if she left on her own then the whales got gamed. If she was forced out then we have a lot of work to do as a community.
I know there are a lot of people that get flagged to oblivion and for the most part they usually they deserve it. Some probably just ended up pissing off a whale and the whales used their power (whether right or wrong) to kick them off of the platform.
As far as @guerrint I'm just hoping that she left on her own accord and wasn't forced off.
Any Thoughts?
I was too late to see the makeup girl, though I did see some of the criticism where users didn't think the content was deserving. Either way, my wife did pretty well the few times she used the site but she hasn't been active since. She is still cashing out though...
I don't think people should get too much when they post because I feel that they don't appreciate what they are doing as work, as an investment in them. With the rising value of Steem my wife keeps cashing out and doesn't seem to run out of money. Taking and taking without giving back...I don't think this is a good lesson.
I'm kinda in the same mindset. Most people don't understand the freedom this site is trying to give them and in turn they should give back. But to each it's own. This is a new concept so there will be hiccups along the way.
Thanks for sharing! My husband got me into Steemit too, but I'm very new. Hope to keep giving back whatever I can offer. People around here seem very friendly. Totally different than anywhere else.
This is new, never heard of her until now.
From the look of things, feels like there's more to it. You just made me very curious
Yea same here. I hope somone with more info can comment .
Nice look
???
There is some strangeness happening here fersure...especially as a woman..I believe that one can easily be squeezed or harassed out...and it is clear to see there is jealousy..and a strange zombie happening when people mix with money...I have never heard of her...why would she have to make things right? if she was gifted? why shouldn't she cash it if it belongs to her? I feel like steemit is not for the weak of heart..and I have felt and witnessed already in less than a month, sexism, racial profiling, and trolling...it makes me wonder what it will be like when success shines upon me* this is not a good sign..
Yea no one said it was a utopia. I've seen some B.S on here and I call it out as such. I think it is hard for women in general and especially on a platform like this where people are competing for attention.
