I am bothered when I see someone who is new to the community who makes one single post and already has a higher reputation than some of the quality content producers on this site who have worked hard for months. I understand that quality content is important, but at what point do we point the finger and say hey now, that's a bit unfair. I'm sorry, but 1 post should not be worth 100 or 200. I want this platform to be as successful as possible so this is the reason for this post, not so much to rant. However I am seeing a lot of people who either get lucky and have some powerful bot/account resteem them, pay for reputation by using booster and randowhale (which I do BTW), or just bring their big youtube followings here. I personally believe that the two biggest changes needed on steemit are to the reputation system and to the SEO to make it so that newer members can actually have their posts seen. I do believe that time spent, or hours spent browsing other articles/writing in the community should count towards something in terms of reputuation. What are your thoughts on this? Do you believe the reputation system is fair? Or do you believe revisions need to be made?
New Followers get 0.001 SBD$ and an upvote for free!!
Just follow @steemvote and...
bots are wrong.
Ya know, I agree, but it unfortunately seems like a necessary evil in the community. At this point I don't really understand how people can succeed without them. I really don't like the fact that people can basically purchase reputation so to speak.
how can they purchase reputation?
Theres a bot called @booster where you can trade steemdollars for an upvote. The more steemdollars the higher the upvote. This bot is extremely powerful, at least for lower rep users like myself. But 1 vote can easily raise my reputation 1 or 2 full points which is kind of crazy.
reputation is logrithmic...the first few steps are fairly easy...the higher the harder..
