Running out of Steem

I started out here very excited and optimistic, with a ton of energy and great ideas, but with payouts continually dropping, and very few views I've started to feel like I'm running out of steem. Is this going anywhere? Or am I just investing massive amounts of time writing quality articles to have them fall under a stack of hundreds of other articles. I shouldn't need to use Bots to increase view-counts. Is SEO the problem here? Am I just burned out and need to take a few days away from Steemit?

I've started to get a little frustrated seeing people who post like 1 article and come from youtube and already have a higher rep than I do on here. Does it make sense? Is Steemit just about luck? Does my contribution to the community even matter? Will Steemit be run by advertisers in the future? Will greed completely ruin steemit? I have so many questions. How do you feel about Steemit? How do you feel about the community? Are you experiencing burnout?

I always think getting results on social media is like an expotential graph, everything accumulates when you produce content constantly, regularly. And soon the 'big hit' will come. Think that you just need to continue when everyone quits, then you'll climb up there.

I’ve noticed this, too! Just followed! Follow me, too? :)

All markets are down, not just Steem. The energy you invest in the platform now will benefit you in future... possibly. This is not financial advice ;)

I'm pretty new myself, but I've also taken a hard stance against caring about the money:work ratio. I like the money, and I like getting Steem Power to reward posts that I like. But I make sure I don't post anything in hopes of getting views or rewards. I post for my own amusement, and welcome anyone that wants to enjoy it with me.

I don't know what SteemIt used to be like, but the current state of things probably isn't going to change unless people flee SteemIt in droves. It's the nature of any social media. Greed might have a negative effect on SteemIt, but ultimately it'll be the simple numbers that continue to change it.
