World exclusive first look at das Beymanhaus! Base of operations which I am now renting for a tidy sum which I can just barely afford providing SBD doesn't fall below $3 for an extended amount of time. I'm not a crazy man, I piled away some savings to cover slow months. Still, what a big change to my life! What a big step. I hope it turns out to have been a good decision.
I think it's a reasonably handsome dwelling. The couple renting it to me are doing so in order to have their tenants basically pay the mortgage on what will become their retirement house. Not a bad idea, I'll stash it away in the back of my brain for future use.
The detached garage. It's enormous inside and was one of the three main factors in deciding to rent this property. I have to be able to charge my car and bike, which greatly limited my choice of apartment buildings back when I thought I was going to get an apartment on the east side of the willamette.
Look at all that space! My Volt and Das Wampyr (the bike) are happily charging. The couple I rent from says they can install a 240v socket by this Summer if I provide them the sockets and cables. That would enable me to fully charge my car, empty to full, in 4 hours instead of 11.
There are skylights in the living room, which help to reduce energy usage. Which is good since I'm paying an extra $4 per month on my power bill to get energy exclusively from solar, wind and hydro. Not difficult in Oregon since we've got 4 hydroelectric dams along the Columbia river.
The kitchen. Very modern. The house was actually built in the 1920s but everything besides the foundation has been rebuilt since then. I've been hoping to spot some old timey ghosts at night who I could discuss the prohibition and women's suffrage with, but no luck as of yet.
There's also a basement, and two unfinished rooms. I consider this a plus, as I need project space for DIY, and concrete is easier to clean than carpet. I also need space for my weight lifting equipment, and one of the two rooms can potentially be set up as a dedicated roomscale VR space.
My workspace, as it currently stands. One nice thing about living alone (until I get a roommate) is that there's no clutter, and I don't need anybody's permission to move or throw away stuff when I feel like cleaning the place up. Being right next to a window that looks out on the front porch will be handy when receiving deliveries too.
Anyways, that's really all there is to show. I don't especially feel like the basement, attic or bathroom need to be showcased here. I'm actually still in the process of moving my stuff and need to go transport my cat, and all the support items a cat needs.
It's been honestly very overwhelming. All the paperwork, all the calls I needed to make, everybody wanting this or that from me. Renting a house is serious business, but after weighing my options (especially given the fact that I own a cat and an electric car) I feel like I made the right call.
But really, it will depend on what the market does. It's doing well enough now (and I have enough savings) that I think it wasn't altogether insane to try to rent this place on Steemit money. But I will be more reliant than ever on consistent whale votes, which seem to have been tapering off as of late.
My solution to this will be to expand my presence onto D.Tube and Zappl, to be more daring in my crypto investments, and to search for additional sources of income that fit into my Steemit posting schedule. More to come.
Stay Cozy!
Awesome man, nothing like having your OWN place to live. A space to call your own. Lots of possibilities with the extra rooms too. If or when you decide to get a roommate be extremely diligent. Picking the right/wrong person can seriously to your home from either heaven or hell.
Good luck.
btw Only thing that sucks about living alone is you can’t blame anyone when your shit goes missing..
Good choice bro. House looks just fine.
I really loved the house, it seems to be ecofriendly, 4V sockets, lighting coming from the roofs to save electricity, and I really loved your workspace, kinda compact, the space of this house is used to its fullest, nice buy.
All that room and yet a ten keyless keyboard? You're a lunatic!
Congratulations on you home worth more not less will achieve more and more and buy everything you want sbd and steem will know,
I really congratulate you for your new home. You have a home for your Volt as well. Nice yard. It nice the owners are willing to install 240V outlet for your Volt. I like the size of your garage, it’s huge. Your workspace is where all this magic happens, looks very cozy right next to the window, you can always see what’s going on outside. I hope Steem and Steem Dollars will go only higher with some whales to come even better.
Wow this is a great feat but I must say this post gave me a food for thought and that's "widening my horizon" . I am presently living off steem money now, not like I make enough but atleast better than doing nothing and now I ask myself, what if it seizes , what if the money stops coming in. I need to do something else to support myself then
This is a pretty house you got for yourself man and I must say you are doing pretty well for yourslef too. Nice ride bro...living it.
Hahahahaha...you funny man. Why would you be expecting to see a ghost. Am sure you won't stand when you see one...lolzz
Renting is definitely better than buying right now. I've been in real estate my entire adult life and sold off all my property but the one I'm living in. By this time next year you should be able to buy something for pretty cheap or maybe even that place you're renting. Nice desktop rig by the way...
que hermosa casa quisiera una asi
I've been hoping to spot some old timey ghosts at night who I could discuss the prohibition and women's suffrage with)
that is not a bad idea at all !
congratulate for your new home .
hope you will earn more and more here ,you are an inspiration
Thanks for your insights! Such a first own house has something special, I can empathize with that! Maybe you can make a private VR room etc. ;) I would go for it with big loudspeakers.^^
Its actually great to know that this beautiful apartment was secured using Steemit inflow... That sends a deep message. All the best in your cashflow sustainance in the long run!
Your house is great. :)
A big step indeed ... all the best for ur future endevours.... We all know our hero is going to make it big.. These all extra bills wont be an issue very soon for you...
Damn its a good start, expanding into dtube and others could definitely make you get a lot bigger. The only thing your account lacks is help from a whale.
It's a nice place to move in.
I hope it is soundproofed well, so you can make any loud noises when you make videos lol.
Was the real reason for moving because of your girlfriend?)
It's a nice place to live, I hope there are not too many ghosts!
That's certainly part of it. The drive to her place is much shorter now.
Full on supporting you with this decision ! Bold moves like that make life hell of a lot more interesting and enjoyable! Also you have nuff room for them Tesla cars in that humongous garage! :P
Oh, shit. That's awesome, man. Congratulations on getting into a house! It looks pretty nice, seems like a good fit for your needs.
Congratulations man, your new place looks awesome. It's inspiring to see you living off the platform.
I've been pretty absent from steemit in the last week, largely due to the fact that I finally caved and bought a switch, a decision that you influenced at least a little.
Enjoy that place. Looks like a great place to call home.
I wasn't even gonna buy one except I knew I wanted a tablet for the car, and I was like "but android games are mostly trash". Then I remember Nintendo made a tablet, shrugged, and bought it. It's got games I actually want to play, unlike an ipad or android tablet.
thanks to this post, with this post we can see how beautiful the architecture of a very simple house building made of kayi. feels very comfortable when occupied how cool and calm the atmosphere of the house, although very simple but still look elegant and also we can take conclusion comfort of residence not necessarily darl home ynag luxury.
Very inspirational to see someone renting a house mainly off SBD. Congrats!
So have you bought you electric lawn mower yet? Timers for the watering? Looked at buying a shovel for putting plants and flowers in to spruce up the yard? At least two lawn chairs, and an outdoor table to sip coffee or water on the nice days outside. Congratulations on the home, make sure the kitty cat has a coller with you phone number and new address, just in case. Oh and if it is an older cat, well it may take some time to adjust to new surroundings, so look for where all the potential hiding spaces are.
Good tips. I have an electric mower. The cat has a subdermal ID chip.
Congrats on your new home, it looks beautiful..
Moving to a new place can be exhausting but it is important to have new beginnings in life.
Congratulations 👏! In California we don’t have the luxury ‘to decide to rent a property’. Everything is so congested that most of us pretty much rent what we can get. I hope this new abode works out well for ya.
Alex really man...This looks so cosy man...A great step indeed..Love the way it has bn built...Amazing man..All the best for this bro..May u get much more in your life..You truly deserve it...
Nice house you've got there Alex.
Really looks cool inside, especially the Kitchen.
One thing about new houses is i hate moving my stuff!
Have a nice stay there.
D.tube and Zappl dont sound like bad ideas either.
More crypto in your pocket friend...you got magnet in your pocket ;)
Nice choice of home.... Everything is well managed and kept at proper place because of which your house is looking perfect
I think your new house is awesome. But it can be difficult to get familiar and friendly with the neighborhood but on the other hand change is good and change is important. Besides your new home is perfect I think the garage is spacy, the kitchen is great, the skylights to help saving power and the ghosts from the basement. You are going to make some friends my friend.😋
doesnt matter what u think brother... :p
get me a bowl od broccoli
Well, this is the attitude of a ghost. @alexbeyman here's number 1.
Wonderfully presented the home.... Home sweet home can be said easily after reading your article
I want you to always succeed, and can live the day full of excitement
Alex - Congratulations... Are you home alone? You made a good choice & I think you are planing something further ;)
+W+
I like this location! It seems like a clam place to live! As you said I also collected an investment to these months! So, now I am trying to managing things! Congratz for your milestone dude!@alexbeyman,
Cheers~
Loved your pc setup. It's looking so powerful and amazing. The new house looks so fine too.
Congratulations! Sounds like you're managing the risk pretty well. It'll probably turn out to be a good decision, especially when you get a roommate.
Fuck those boring topics, you need to get them to teach you the art of flagpole sitting.
Respect.
Nice digs. I trust they will serve you well. Good job overcoming all the various hurdles, paperwork and otherwise, and achieving your objective.
Try not to accidentally thwack your cat while in VR world, now that you have even more room. The cat wouldn't understand, and they hold powerful grudges until they taste sweet revenge on soft, pliable human flesh.
Ever onward, ever upward.
That's a sweet house! Super excited to hear that you are going to be on Zappl too!
your house is just perfect every thing looks clean and ready to live in <3
My upvotes not worth much but I'll keep them coming. Hope you lead a comfy life in your new haunt.
Not to worry. Every genuine follower who isn't just another spammer or sycophant is a treasure, whether they're a minnow, dolphin or whale.
That is an epic computer setup for sure. Nice place all things considered.
That's a nice looking place. Glad you found something that suits your needs. I'm looking forward to whatever you cook up in the basement. You've done some pretty cool projects already.
