Read all the time about digital coins - boring!
This is the most common mistake of beginners on Steemit.
In most cases, I have seen at least people who enter the platform are people who already know what is Bitcoin and all its philosophy, they know a thing or two about the world of digital currencies and understand what these creatures are called (SBD, SP, STEEM.)
Of course, if you have an excellent opinion about cryptographic coins or something profitable that you can share with everyone, write (I'll be more than happy).
I really understand why writing about this subject is the primary instinct.
After all, this whole network is based on Blockchain (especially useful if I may say so).
But where instinct is, the interesting thing is not always found.
I understand that most people who read this post do not really have the most important thing for quality Steemit blog- TIME!, but there is a big elephant in the room ...
If there is anything that could bring ME in Steemit high ratings ?! Even if I minnow small,
Yes, but you have to make time.
It should also come from within.
One can look at the example of one that comes from within on "Trevon James"
He says that even if he loses all his money he will continue to do blogs every day!
Despite everything that happened to him in BitConnect about him is really a good blogger!
So you will be surprised, there are some things that can help you.
Some nice things that help minnows:
I know that many times you write things that are invested! And no one noticed, but as soon as whale will look at posts of minnows he will search for something invested (he has spent a lot of money on the platform he wants to be good with good content To maximize his investment), I'm not a whale but, when I want to give high upvote to someone, if the post isn't invested I can't give high percentages.
You should find some whales, dolphins that you are going to annoy them (if you have a good content, not just a few letters with a photo from google and video from youtube !)
If you see that the whale is nice and giving you an appreciation for your investment then keep on contact with him, why not try to have contact with a lot of peoples that influence on the platfrom.
I can give here few accounts of peoples that give good content that is not about crypto!
List of good members that don't write content about crypto:
@slowwalker (amazing history)
@nainaztengra (awesome and relaxing )
@techslut (different and creative)
@d-pend (for the soul)
@hopehuggs (really nice interviews with Steemit members)
@vm2904 (quality nature)
@nomad-magus (life)
@mordechai(comix)
@steemteam(tutorials and explanations about Steemit)
And I have more examples.
Try to find a niche!
That's the most important thing, once you've found it, the investment time is like any investment in another business.
You need faith, you need effort, and it does not always pay off in the end. The truth is bitter.
but think about it, at least you have somewhere to pour your thoughts and sometimes get money for it!
People are greedy, it's our nature.
Anyone who comes to Steemit not only because of greed, often succeeds above what is expected.
It i crypto currency website
Steemit is a type of social media where authors are rewarded through the blockchain technology. IMHO, it is not really a cryptocurrency website, but only built around it. Anything can be written here, that's why you can tag whatever you want with your posts. Some people even say that this is a "facebook killer", thus, I understand it as something to rival other known social medias. Cheers!
I've been saying this for MONTHS. For a long time, I refused to upvote any content related to crypto stuff. Sure, the platform naturally attracts crypto fans, but enough is enough. It's a saturated category and a bit of a cirlejerk.
I completely agree with your post.. It is necessary to dilute posts, do not write about one crypto currency.Otherwise it becomes boring!;)I also write about the crypto, but I use other directions!
Happy to hear this sir. But what content can you upvote on if you really like it. I hope to hear your view @techslut
Hmm... science, fiction, science fiction, feminism, technology, gaming, rpgs, tabletop, gender, sexuality, relationships and self publishing. That's the content I find interesting. To each their own. :)
I can say that over the last month or so, there has been a definite drop in the amount of content posted in the couple of topic clusters that I'm interested in, role-playing games and 3D printing.
Especially once you filter out the obvious content jacked from elsewhere on the web and start looking for actual personally engaged content.
Does it exist? Sure. Is it easy to find? The system doesn't help you.
I can tell you it seems even the fiction and poetry community I'm part of, and which you said you'll message me on Discord about joining, had seen a slump recently. I wonder if it's a combination of the flu, midterms, and real life all picking up at the same time, or burn-out. Probably some of each.
Don't forget the massive volatility of bitcoin, which reflects the massive volatility of cryptocurrency in general, having a bit of a terrifying drop recently. Or, at least, inconsistent gains.
It's probably not a coincidence that activity on Steemit seems to reflect the overall confidence in cryptocurrency. The majority appear to be here to get paid.
I'm not sure we've been a social networking platform long enough to really work out with the burnout curve is, but most creative sites see between three and six month peaks and valleys as people get into it and then go find other things to do. With an overall new user retention rate of under 8%, Steemit has some real problems when it comes to maintaining enough activity across the board for mainstream use.
I am talking less about onboarding new members, as much as a drop off on already "established" members (over 54 reputation), or at least their activity.
As for being a social network, well, it is one. Just a really bad one. And yes, it's very hard to measure burn-out metrics. Except to know that the growth in active users (as opposed to registered users) is very slow.
3-6 months is an interesting figure. And I guess it's even worse when you come to earn money and don't, and the site being so small means getting creative feedback or networking is also better had elsewhere. Hm.
@amiramnoam you are right with your observation and opinion about blogging on this platform. You know, this issue of crypto blogging was what I was discussing with my friend the other day. So many people write about it at some point most of the articles lose their values or looks like a duplicate of someone's else thought.
Finding a niche whether on Steemit or in life is one of the most important things to do as individual. I write on a whole range of subject depending on the motivation I have but you'll noticed that I settle for work/business related improvement advice and sometimes a bit of fiction. That's because, those two comes naturally to me. So, I wish everyone who's struggling to find their feet on this platform would read this your article and decide for themselves today what and where to go. Thanks for this piece.
SteemIt is not a crypo website. True you are being paid for content with crypto currency and can promote your content with crypto but basically this is a replacement for Social Media sites like Facebook. If this is a crypto website and centered around this idea I will be leaving soon.
I was also hesitant previously to write because of the nature of the platform. I'm not much into crypto-stuff but I do know how to analyze but not interpret them. I have always envied people with aesthetic intelligence or good photography skills. If they have already established the market, the possibilities are endless.
What I am referring to? These artists can just paint, draw or doodle stuff with the step-by-step and it is already something worth it. A good photographer can capture the worst scenarios and turn it into something good. With a few description, it will be legitimate post. Their consistency is unmatched. In my case, I am more on environmental advocacies and awareness. My scope is not that endless. That is unfortunately, my niche and my market.
You are correct. Human nature is indeed inclined to benefit himself/herself first before others. I won't be a hypocrite. Majority are like that.
I'm still hoping for someone that could actually help me with my knowledge to be spread. Nevertheless, this platform is still great even with its flaws.
I agree! I know this is a blog platform based on crypto, but this is a blog and people need to share the information for anything that people attracts. I'd love to this platform to be useful for any subjects rather than crypto!
I agree
you're making steemit a great community with your content ! keep it up!
But something you learn as a marketer is to play to the audience to get a high engagement rate. If you are on a crypto forum but you put something about football, you might miss the audience. Arguably, if your target is football then their might be better places to market. I am not saying we can't talk about non crypto things, I am just saying that it's a smart move in my opinion to write crypto articles because we already know for a fact that everyone here is interest in crypto, and maybe not football, cars, etc. But those niches probably have less competition around here too! So much opportunity!
ADSactly
I hear you I am pretty much 100% crypto and that is because I am really excited about it. I do not write if there is nothing exciting to say. I agree there is a lot of very thin articles with incorrect details and an obvious lack of research in presenting of "facts" this in itself gives me more to write
I write about all kinds of stuff I’m passionate about, the least frequently being cryptocurrency. The crypto posts almost always do better. I think all you can do is upvote and curate posts which are not about crypto. You will be greatly appreciated for this, many of us are struggling.
Wow... So you noticed it?
Some articles are not even passing the right information.
Thanks for sharing @amiramnoam
very true
Locating a gap whether or not on steemit or in life is one of the maximum critical activities as individual. I write on an entire variety of difficulty depending on the motivation i have however you'll observed that i accept paintings/enterprise related development recommendation and from time to time a piece of fiction.
Thank God am not the only one who noticed it too
Most valuable article i read today! Is it okay if i get inspired from this and create a animation ? I'm an animator please let me know your thoughts!!! Thank you
Totally right, upvoted and resteemed
Damn, that's a cool GIF!
I agree..
I really like your post.!! because it's very valuable post...Every post i read.....
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing the authors that doesn’t write about crypto. In my case I am trying hard to write articles not related to crypto though sometimes it is frustrating when you post something with quality but no one views it. Tho it’s all good.
I love this and agree about the Crypto posts! I love Crypto but I also love the posts about travel and food, everyone has an interesting story to tell and I want to hear them all!
Not all in crypto some is share photographs and memories. If a picture paint a thousand words why some people are skeptical for it.
It's called OCD (Obsessive Cryptocurrency Disorder) they can't help it. lol... Thanks for the list of fresh niche bloggers I'm adding to my follow. Salute.
Many people want to use the keyword that is controversial.
It is because you can't get people's attention without being an issue.
Many people's interests are not their own.
It is also good to make a blog about the topics I am interested in and would like to share.
But I think the important thing is that it is a little easier to get to the point when it is popular.
I'm a machine 😂😂😂
Photography is another way, been doing it a long time though curators come and go. But that does not demotivate me to continue posting my noob shots. Cheers!
I am new here, but I have this impression and even think if I should spend so much time here. Some really valuable information and knowledge are undervoted and makes steemit less attractive.
I really enjoy d-pend. He has wonderful poetry. I tend to stick with the more artsy posts. I post them myself. It is a lovely way to pass the time:)
Good information keep it share friends
do what you want, if you have to "try" its bound to fail or feel forced
Buen post
Like!
I have a post on Ketogenic lifestyle that is worthwhile.
For real. That's what I've been saying... It's all the same stuff over and over again.... Great post.... Upvote and resteeeemmm for sure
Thank you dear Noam for sharing my Name.
I don't think I can ever write on Crytpo, that's not my forte at all, but yes majority of the post are with this subject and they earn well so people form a general opinion that the Crypto post will get them good earnings, well but its just a misconception.
I would love to read on my subject Crystals which I rarely see here :-(
I've heard @yesaye also posts amazing content on his blog.
hehe
I still read posts that are crypto related, but I do read them less and less by the time.
Thank you for mentioning @mordechai, I told him you mentioned him as a good content creator. just waiting until he wakes up to see his reaction haha. It's really important to him.
thank you.
Crypto is just one of the most visible niches. I for example follow the 'scuba' 'diving' tag daily. It's not showing in the tags list, it's not as possible but it's there waiting for the community feature on steemit.
https://steemit.com/trending/diving
If someone has a passion for crypto and wants to talk about it, by all means, go for it! But it is definetely saturated so it will have to be very original and different. What I often see is people talking about the same things and giving the same opinions about crypto. That doesn't add much :(
Awesome i'll check out there pages :)
Thank you for posting this. You've saved me a good amount of time by pointing out some people who I would like to connect with. Content focused tightly around one big market that you have an affinity towards is better than being all over the place. Thank you. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing, I know sometimes it is not easy to write an interesting posts, that's why I just write what I feel, and I must admit that it does not attract the right attention, but it's what I do, so once again, thank you for the advice.
I think it is changing. Initially, when I started writing here, I was also curious to write more about crypto. I did write a few articles initially on crypto. Now I have stopped and started to focus on other areas of interests that I have. Of course, I'm still a crypto enthusiast but I have contained my enthusiasm for just reading alone and not writing.
I feel the website can be filled with lots of other information than just crypto alone. The only problem that I have is to sit and write about something.😛 Right now I write once a week. I have to increase the frequency of writing going forward.
