Now that the reputation system is in place people are starting to realize that their actions on steemit are actually important. I guess for some it's kinda too late and...sucks to be you (yes, I'm looking at you guy in the - minus zone).
First of all I wanted to give out a couple tricks on how to get a bad reputation
- Make sure Steemit is your primary tag on all you new posts. Got a funny meme, ef it, it's about steemit so that's my first choice of tags. I'll throw in funny and meme too just in case.
- Go on steemit.chat and paste your post's link on ALL the channels there not just #postpromotion. Because why not. Also, repeat the action preferably every 5 minutes just to be sure everyone knows you're a great author.
- Write a post about Steemit being a ponzi scheme, an unfair community full of upvote bot lists. Rant abuot it a lot and that will definitely get people to value you as a thought leader and will certainly Follow you and check out your awesome new articles. Bring out all the negativity you stored deep down and spill it on everyone's screen. That's the spirit.
- Saw a great post in the Trending section? Why not do the magic copy/paste thing and post it again by yourself. Hell, if that guy made it big I will too, right? Especially if he worked his ass off for that photo/video or found a new great idea.
- Get a bot that comments on every new post with "Hey @username, great post!". (I know, bots are geniuses and you're a genius too for getting one). The great alternative here is to manually comment on posts and say "Hey, I liked your [insert post related comment]. Upvote my post too [insert spam post link here] because I upvoted yours."
- Bonus one:.You got in an argument with someone and you don't like him/her now? Make sure you downvote everything that mo-fo posts, being articles, comments, everything. That'll teach them a lesson and you've got your revenge.
I also wanted to provide some guidelines for the people in the - (minus) zone that got there through an unfair process.
Clearly understand why you have a bad rep. Have you been downvoted? And why. Then, if you earned it, there isn't much you can do because...well, you deserve it and work your ass to get back on top. You can do it!
If you know why you're in the minus zone and it is unfair for you to be there do one of the following:
- Do a post where you clearly explain what is happening and bring good, valid reasons why you shouldn't have a bad rep. (here's an example that worked: https://steemit.com/steemit/@penambang/how-single-downvote-ruined-my-reputation)
- If you're on slack (bet you're not but still), do as @dantheman said and bring it up there. All you need is one-two whales to up vote you and you're back at +6 most probably.
- If you're not on Slack (neither am I), bring it up on https://steemit.chat in the #steemitabuse or #steemitabuse-classic channels. More often then not, people will stand up for you because we're a community and we support each other.
I posted this article with a little satirical tone. I tried a funny note but it brings out the ugly truth. I am not only bringing out the bad stuff but also providing some alternatives to getting your rep back if you've been damaged unfairly. I do hope this helps, at least some, that deserve it.
Haha, that's hilarious ! Great post and I'll try to improve my rep through the things you suggested :)
You're fucked, you're not far from @wang
I shot you an upvote to help you @abit
Haha , Wang got it MUCH worse :D #poorwang
Thanks for the upvote mate :)
anytime!
Cool. Shot you an upvote, not much, but hope it helps in the long run :)
Thank you :)
Sure would like to see your article in trending. 7 cents is a disgrace if you ask me . :(
Here's some advice to improve your rep: focus on relationships more than the money. Saying the $ value of this post "is a disgrace" is pretty strong language and reveals your strong negative opinions about the payout system here. Maybe those opinions are valid, but language like "disgraceful", IMO, doesn't bring about respectful dialogue. Keep in mind, some really, really smart people worked for a very, very long time to come up with the algorithms to make all this work and which many people here are thoroughly enjoying. To label the outcome of that work "disgraceful" because it doesn't line up with your subjective opinion is not a good step forward, IMO. Good luck, and I hope this constructive criticism will be well received!
Haha I knew that the word disgrace will cause me some harm. I'm sorry, I just had a really good laugh reading this, and the guy is truly trying to put out great content and all he got was a couple of upvotes.
We need to try to express our opinions, not always fear the outcome of doing so :)
nah, i'm good. Whatever the outcome. I just want to do my part around here.
Nice article, the first part especcially. Antahonistic style, like it.
Thanks!
Thank you I will try your recommendations for some reason someone keeps flagging my posts yet they are written by me or I provide references to the original #steemitabuse
Cool. Hopefully it will get resolved.
Great article and you have klye art! You nailed it!
haha. Thanks. I though some of @klye art would fit in this post's tone. Cheers to him!
Good advice, plus klye art. Too much win.
Thanks man. Appreciate it. I just hope more people will see it :)
