RE: Content Crusaders: The Fight to Save Steemit Will Fail

in #steemit8 years ago

The nature of blogs is to write whatever you want. Kinda crazy to act like there should only be one genre or some specific category should be rejected. Some folks stink at it, but want to share anyway. Some think it's like Twitter, while others write encyclopedic treatises. Who is to say what is right and wrong on their own blog? You can mute individuals if you don't like what they're doing.
I'm not really into sports, though I appreciate them - having played and been a pretty decent athlete at one time (before I let too many girth units pile up). And I play the games once in awhile, when I see them.
I find this ironic on a site where there's a push for porn. Really, we want less sports and more porn?
It would be nice if we could mute certain categories though. If someone's not interested in sports, they could mute the sports category and that would be it. I could mute porn.
You do a great job David. Don't let it get to you.

As for quality - there are several efforts ramping up to promote better quality and in specific categories. Hopefully they'll help solidify the community through sub-communities as the platform grows.

In all fairness, they oppose the porn, too. Some of them, anyway.

Oh, I'm not worried about it. I just like to write a nice, long post once in a while. Flushes out the system.

Arent porn and gaming the kinds of things that generate lots of money and would make people hold Steem? Dating seems pretty obvious.. The caveat is - someone at Steem Inc would have to decide to spend money on advertising. The only billboards that went up to my knowledge were a result of the very same community that has become too popular.
