I joined Steemit with high hopes over a week ago. My hopes have exceeded!
I went to bed with 481 followers last night. I was prepared to sit down and brainstorm and take my time to write a post about this milestone. But in the Wonderful Land of Steemit you never know what is going to happen.
502 followers in 12 days!
Happy Dance!
This has been a whirlwind of new friends, new things, and new concepts. I got a lot of help from a lot of awesome individuals, @tremendospercy and @Gmuxx helped carry my bags when I first arrived, and @firepower @raymondspeaks @Breakingtonight welcomed me to the neighborhood and put together a Welcome Basket that really helped me get around! @walkingkeys @cali-girl @aggroed @creativeusername @kevinwong and @teamhumble were here to greet me and make sure I felt comfortable, and a few of homeowners on the hill even helped me inadvertently, ahem @stellabelle @papa-pepper @teamsteem (yes, I was a bit of a stalker and peered through their windows, I hope you can forgive me). I know I am forgetting to mention a few! I also want to give a shout out to @minnowsupportproject and everyone who keeps that running- it is an awesome gift for new kids!
I am also new to the world of crypto, but seem to be getting it down quickly. I transferred and converted me first payout on Sunday, it took me 8 hours! I was all set to go with Poloniex but was notified right before (thank GOD not after!) that they don't work with people in Washington State any longer.
I want to thank everyone who was so super supportive and encouraging with the tough subjects I talked about my first few days, you made me feel so comfortable and happy I have a place to bring awareness and discuss the harsh stuff in a non judgmental place :)
Everyone, thank you. New kids- you CAN do this! Steemit is THE FUTURE. Seriously, where else can you write what you want when you want and get paid to do so? And with the most wonderful community on the interwebz? In all reality, you will get from steemit exactly what you put into it.
I am so proud to be here with you. This is already a spectacular journey and I look forward to many more years growing and adventuring with you!

Oh, I agree. You simply can't beat the commute. I also find I'm eager to log in every day and discover what's been going on here while I was sleeping. It's fun, and a bit addictive.
My goodness that is an accurate statement! I've never considered myself an addictive personality. That is, until I found Steemit!
I actually totally forgot about two articles I'd promised to a private client yesterday, because I spent most of the day on here, and completely lost track of time. Now, I have to make up those two articles for him today, so he'll order more from me next month. That's how addictive this place is.
