Never give your password and double check on which website you really are!

I already warned you about several (potential) scam attempts (see bottom of this post for a list of them). Here is a new one. Thanks to @ace108 for catching my attention and notifying about this new scam.

Scam Description

The scammer publish the following comment on user’s post

If you click on the link in the comment, you will be redirected to the following site:

If you go down the website page, you will see 3 links that invite you to order for a “service”

If you carefully look at the underlying links, you will see that clicking on the “Order Now” buttons will bring you to another site:

The site is a fake SteemConnect login page!

The goal of the creator of this website is clearly to steal your credentials to hack your account!

Preventive action activated

I will add any account sending phishing links to the black list of my Warning-Bot and it will issue warnings with a link to this post, notifying users of the malicious activity of those accounts.

If you find similiar pishing attemps, contact me on steem.chat

To protect yourself, you can:

  • always double check before clicking on a link, especially if this links take you away from steemit.com.
  • verify the reputation of people writing comments on your posts. A user with a low reputation shoud trigger you attention.

If you missed them, please find here the previous alerts I published:

reminder

A bit of paranoia is the basis of security.
There are a few simple rules to follow in order to avoid having your account hacked:

Rule 1: NEVER, I repeat, NEVER use or give your owner key or password!

Rule 2: Use your posting key to login, post and vote on trusted websites like steemit.com or busy.org.

Rule 3: NEVER give your active key as this key allows to control your funds! Only use your active key for special operation like money transfer or account update on trusted websites like steemit.com.

Rule 4: Anywhere else, if you are requested to provide any of the above key: RUN AWAY!!!

4 simple rules. It's not much to remember. Follow them scrupulously, and you will only have to laugh at unsuccessful attempts from scammers.

Spread the words, resteem this post to your friends, and you will make the platform safer.

Thanks for reading!

Just in time. I was caught. Thanks for explaining everything

I reported this to you to on Steemitchat. The sad thing is that the post has great information that can be used to help determine what Tag you want to write in. With the warning lot's will not go up vote and comment on his post. Perhaps in these warnings some encouragement to view, up vote, and comment could be provided to counter this effect. It would also end up encouraging the poster to report. LOL

THIS is very helpfull! Cybercrime has been a global issue ! And precaution have to be taken by user itself! Indeed a great post

This is especially helpful to all the newbies out there. Thank you for protecting us by debunking scams.

How to recover stolen cash? Is there any way?
No one could invent that so far.

Hello, thank you for this info. What if I´m stupid and signed up there with my key. Then I realized it´s wrong and than generated new key on steemit. Is it OK or should I start with new account and transfer my value??? Thanks for answer.

very important your information, excellent

thanks for the information his friend, this is the most valuable information for me the beginner in steemit,
indeed lately many who send a link,
Thank you friend

Thanks for this info´s!

Do you know the instance, who´s checking the scam/phishing-accounts?
You made a comment under a post from me, where @chenie wrote a spam-comment with a "dubious" link.

I checked his wallet and there you can see some dubious transfer´s, too. Maybe it would be interesting for the "steemit-security".

as a beginner I also have become a victim .... where SBB and SP I stolen by @reputation-bot.https://steemit.com/help/@ziaulhaqnsm/is-my-steam-power-stolen-or-delegated-cf54933af8c68
