Either those fucking scammers have some sense of humor, or they try to destroy my reputation.
For months, I've been working hard to educate users and warn them against multiple scam attempts spreading over Steemit. In return, I think that all scammers should not be happy with my action that comes to hinder their project to steal their victims.
I have already been the city of a smear campaign on their part behalf. Today I noticed they started a new one, using my name in their phishing link!
I do not know if I should be scared or feel honored. Any, this one made me laugh when I discovered it. Here it is:
Scam Description
The scammer publish comment on user’s post like this:
or like this :
Yes, you read correctly, they put my name in their phishing link!
If this is not a personal attack … But this is not what will discourage me to fight against these malicious people. Never!
As usual, if you click on the link, you will be redirected to a website that promises you wonderful things:
NOTE: the domain name displayed may be different from the above screenshot
I already described this scam in these posts:

Phishing site reported - autosteem(dot)info
This scam is becoming well know by the community. However, for those who would be the first time encounter with it, I urge you to read the above posts!

reminder
A bit of paranoia is the basis of security.
There are a few simple rules to follow in order to avoid having your account hacked:
Rule 1: NEVER, I repeat, NEVER use or give your owner key or password!
Rule 2: Use your posting key to login, post and vote on trusted websites like steemit.com or busy.org.
Rule 3: NEVER give your active key as this key allows to control your funds! Only use your active key for special operation like money transfer or account update on trusted websites like steemit.com.
Rule 4: Anywhere else, if you are requested to provide any of the above key: RUN AWAY!!!
4 simple rules. It's not much to remember. Follow them scrupulously, and you will only have to laugh at unsuccessful attempts from scammers.
Spread the words, resteem this post to your friends, and you will make the platform safer.
Thanks for reading!
If you notice any new suspect activity like the one described above, drop a comment on this post or contact me on steem.chat
Where you find money, you'll always find a scammer. It would be nice if the Steemit Devs could address this and highlight blacklisted posts/links with a red border to alert danger.
Or hiding them immediately but this second option wouldn't be very open and transparent.
Great work and we are all behind you.
PS: You should be flatered as using your name in their links is a sign that you are trusted in the community :-D
Yep, you need to be very careful with false-positives. This could also be considered as some kind of censorship.
On one side, yes. But on the other hand, they are targeting many newcomers who do not know me. This kind of campaign could be harmful if there was no reaction from me.
Thank you for your comment and support.
@dumasari says @arcange #arcange thank you for your hard work to maintain the comfort and safety of steemians in Steemit,
let the scammer hate you but rest assured the other steemians is very thankful and loving you...
please keep doing goodness...
Thank you @dumasari. Makes me warm at heart!
No scammer would like to show you some love... However, there's need to adapt to the hate; keep up your good work and help keep the steemit community ongoing
Thank you @joyart!
You're welcome
wow
Thanks for sharing. This is automatically telling everyone of us to be at alert and be very careful, so as not to fall into their traps. Beautiful post.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for guarding us man ;) Great job!
If they are doing this type of thing it is because they fear you. When you look at it like that, this is a positive thing.
So shit. They just like money. That’s the drawback of having a publicly visible, large account unfortunately.
Saludos, gracias por tu valiosa información y tu ayuda a evitar esta clases de personas mal intencionada,te deseo mucho éxitos.
Mmh, double feelings about it that they are using your name @arcange!
But no matter how you look at it, they are feeling it that you are fighting them.
Keep it going and thx for protecting us!
I also wrote about simple scam and phishing issues. I am very happy to share the role in this process, Miss Witness @arcange.
