I made a bid about 11 to 12 minutes ago, within one minute of posting...not processed. Does this mean I lose my x2 bonus?

Yes, you're right in both cases.
I appreciate your honesty as it means I can stop rushing to make my bid within a few minutes, since I will earn nothing extra (the x2) if you do not process it within the 5 minutes stipulated for reasons of your own.
It happens maybe once every 100 payments ;)
