Of course, I'm not trying to rock any boats BUT there are a few things about Steemit that could be related to known philosophical discourse. For instance, is "capitalism" in its purest form decentralized by nature? I would say so. But then does that mean that Steemit represents real capitalism and everything else is a sham?

Depends on how you define "capitalism" I guess. What capitalism is seems to change a lot depending on who your talking to. I personally don't see decentralization as a pre-requisite for capitalism. Just non-aggression.
It's interesting you say that, because one of the things I want to write about is the very idea of "capital". What is it? What does this word mean in a historical context? I think if Steemians had a better idea of what capital is, they would have a better idea of what Steemit.com is!
Capital is pretty much the same as savings or investment. Goods are either consumption goods or capital goods. Is it something that you consume or is it something that is used in further process to make consumption goods. That's pretty much how I see capital. I could be missing something in my analysis there, but I don't feel like digging through my economics books right now. lol. You got me really curious now how you are going to relate this to Steemit... really looking forward to the post.
Are spaceships consumed?
Um... I don't think so. lol. Not by humans anyways. I mean there could be some alien in the universe that consumes spaceships, but for humans spaceships would be a capital good used to provide for more consumption goods. E.T was an evil capitalist bro... Ahhhhhh! lol.
"Change"! Da da dum! Ching! :D
