There is a lot of despair and desperation out there for users of the poloniex exchange these couple of days. Poloniex has suspended the transfer of Steem and Ethereum in and out of the exchange. In some cases, transfers have been lost and Poloniex support cannot cope with the volume of technical issues.
I had a case of several ethereum orphaned in a transfer and it took me 2 days just to get a response from them that they are looking into it after contacting them. It took another 3 days for them to escalate the case. So finally after nearly a week, my eths were back in my wallet.
From then on, I stagger my withdrawals. I avoid peak periods to withdraw and also send test amounts to see if the system is working fast before sending the bulk over. It cost me a little more fees but heck, it is better to be safe than to be sorry.
So for those who are caught in the same situation as I was. Please don’t despair. Contact support with all the required information like transaction hashes etc to support your case. Get their attention but give them a little time. If it does not work, try to ask them to escalate it further.
