It's been awhile since my last post... A result of circumstances beyond my control. Here's a little bit to reflect on....
He started the business first… a year before she began hers.
He sold male and female apparel… she did same. In a little while she took over his customers and business.
People who frequented his store had become her customers and were smilingly on first name basis with her. It was quite painful to watch. What to do?
He spoke to a few friends of his troubles. One said he knew of a man that would make his problems disappear.… he was eager to meet him.
The man said she'd bewitched his store and had turned his good fortune to hers. He needed to do same to her. And so under cover of darkness the deed was done.
A few weeks later, her customers began to dwindle… very few goods left to sell, she was hardly around…and yet he his good fortune had not returned…. No goods…no customers….just an almost empty store with lots of financial crisis set to ruin him.
He ran into her one day in front of a departmental store… she was dressed simply in skirt and sandals and looking in through the window. He smiled wickedly… she seemed to be bemoaning her lot..looking in but unable to touch… he'd approach her and pretend sorrow over the loss of her good fortune.
He walked in behind her, tapped her to gain her attention and smiled malevolently upon her…a rich man to her poor woman.. she recognized him and smiled…happy to see an old face.
Spitefully, he laughed into her face and proceeded to offer advise on being docile… growing and sustaining a business…. Knowing her betters…blah..blah..blah… She was not to think she could steal others customers and means of livelihood and go Scot free. He noted the surprise on her face with malicious glee.
Her phone rang… yes, the goods had arrived and were in the warehouse ready for dispatch… yes, she was in her store, the main branch… she'd check with her PA for her schedule and get back to him… it was nice doing business with him. An attendant walked up to them and addressed her in a differential manner, handed over a package and left.
She looked it over, smiled and looked back at him then shook her head.
Sorry to disappoint him, her business was doing great, she'd moved because she'd needed a better location for growth. His customers had become hers because she treated them well and made each feel very important. He could keep his advise and better still implement them in his flagging business… most importantly....fear God and treat your customers right.. she walked out on him.
Confused, he approached the attendant…. Who was she? He asked. My boss, he replied… the owner of the store.
In anger he went back to the problem solver…how could she prosper after our pact…
she stood not alone... she was always protected by a stronger being he replied and so that which you did in the dark came back to hunt you…..
Note to self… One with God is majority.
Note to others….. Beware!…. Karma is real!...
Channel your anger/jealousy over others' success into positive energy to improve your lot...
Going negatively just might bounce back on you....
