The correct answer to this is to buy more steem so that you have the power too.
I've been holding off until we hit the bottom, but I've been telling a lot of investors to watch closely.
Difference between this platform and facebook is facebook gets 100% of all revenue for all likes and shares.
I'd hate to see anyone leave, but consider how much you make here compared to there.
For my part, even $0.01 is infinitely more than I was making on facebook, reddit, slashdot, twitter. So I'm in for the long haul.

I think alot of people do not understand that this is still beta. We need to find a way to make it PAINFULLY apparent it is just basically an MVP at this point and that whales are essentially putting their funds toward proving use cases and paying for things to be built that will help everyone in the steem ecosystem. Hey bernie and smooth can you help me get some whales together so we can talk about how to best build these tools and not unnecessarily double the work we are doing? It would be really nice, for instance, if I were to know all the people working on projects like the content creation/curation guild management site template we are wanting to make available to all people in steem to use as their own front ends with a few bells and whistles (including the capability of creating and sending your own guild token with its own power up profile for your guild).
I am a baby beluga whale though so I could use a couple of the huge guys helping me organize it so I can leverage it to make it better (and distribute more steem to people in the process).
It still has high visibility due to the $30.50 promotion. Its the only reason I came across it.
That's not affected by voting, so nothing I can do about that. It has the minimum visibility that voting controls.
I agree with the rants pointless, but down voting for an opinion is something on the grey side. But trash taking on the people who make this platform possible is a no-no.
The investors (whales) make this beautiful platform work the way it works.

I am not whining, this is not jealousy. The current financial politic of steemit is going to ruin steemit the way you guys drain the reward-pool every day and you know it. No need to act like you don´t know very well what I am talking about.
The purpose of doing this is to make his comment go to the top, not give himself more money. I guarantee you @berniesanders does not care about the $5.40 he is going to make on this comment. He does care about making his statement heard though, which I happen to agree with.

My main problem is: if you don't write constructive criticism and do not bring valid arguments into the discussion, sorry you had it coming.
and by the way, to start complaining and then criticizing a system and then being part of that system too, that is called HYPOCRISY.
berniesanders just downvoted me for speaking my mind too, he ruined my rep with 2 votes. Whales can silence anything they don't like. I have less and less faith in this platform everyday and I used to be very excited about it.
when customizable front ends are available...you will be able to have your own guild site for all your sea friends. it will be able to completely omit the value of whale's flags on steemit. Remember this is something you have never seen before. The Steem blockchain makes it possible for ALLL KINDS of front ends that have different incentive systems.
If you don't like the current witnesses, you can always vote for one of the other ones in the top 50 using the web interface. If you don't like those choices, you can learn to use the cli wallet and vote for anyone you want.
