Can I deposit steem to steemit without converting it to bitcoin?

I have some Steem I am invested in on an exchange. I was wondering if I can just transfer it directly into my Steem account without doing all those extra conversions, and paying those additional fees? If not does anyone know if this is a feature Steemit is working on?

    of course you can. Just go to your wall and hit deposit.

      I only see the option to send Bitcoin,Ether, and Bitshares?
