You’ve seen the reviews and now you want to be a part of them. Here, we’ll draw out a step-by-step guide on how to use the Blue Baikal platform and get you up and running in no time.

1. SIGN UP
In order to participate on the platform, you will need a Steemit account. Have one already? Good for you, skip ahead to step 2.
For those creating one, click “sign up” in the top right hand corner. You’ll be redirected to Steemit, and asked whether you want to pay for your account, or choose the free option (this can take anywhere from one day to two weeks to clear). The free option will need email and phone number verification, while the paid option allows you to stay anonymous. Either way, you’ll need to create a username and follow the prompts.
For the free account, Steemit will mail to notify you once the account has been verified and give you a password. Save and keep your password in a safe place, Steemit does not keep record of users’ passwords so once lost it cannot be retraced. For more options on account set up, see here.
2. LOG INTO BLUE BAIKAL
Once your Steemit account is activated, click Log In. Follow the prompts, entering your username and Steem password as issued, and log in. You’ll find yourself on the platform home page, with a character icon in the top right hand corner indicating you are logged in.
3. HOW TO USE THE BLUE BAIKAL PLATFORM
Now you’re ready to use the Blue Baikal platform! You’ll see the blue menu offers you access to all the latest posts regarding Movies, TV series, Games, Music and Books, simply click on one and see what your fellow Baikaleans are saying. The green pen icon (top right) will allow you to create your first post. Click on it and start sharing with the world.
On the left hand side you’ll find your personalised menu to fast track your experience. See below what each feature offers:
My Baikal — all your posts are located here, for you to easily review and navigate your contribution to the platform.
Feed — based on your “followed” Baikaleans, the Feed displays all the active users you are following, including their posts and reviews. You can follow your favourite Baikaleans and have a personalised feed of the good stuff right from here.
Follows — this shows you all the Baikaleans that have followed you.
My Review — Coming soon in the updated Blue Baikal. This will show all your written reviews.
Account — this is your current balance of Steem tokens, it shows your Steem tokens, Steem Dollars and Steem Power balance.
4. HOW TO WRITE A POST ON BLUE BAIKAL
After selecting the green pen icon, you’ll see the New Post screen, as above. Enter the Title of your post, and in the dropdown menu below it you can select which category you are looking to post in. Once you’ve written your post and attached the relevant media, select “post now”.
You are also now interact with other users on the platform, engaging on their posts.
5. HOW TO ENGAGE ON THE BLUE BAIKAL PLATFORM
When scrolling through the posts that interest you, you’ll see that you can now like, comment, follow and reshare their posts, which will reward users for posts with Steem Dollars. And if you want to share the post on other platforms, you can do so by clicking the link in the lower right hand corner and copying. Don’t forget to share your own links on your favourite social platforms to let your communities know!
