Ironically, I have noticed the same things going on with my posts. I will see a comment at the top of the list with a couple of votes and think wtf? I will then look at who voted for the generic comment and see that the person that made the comment voted for himself and then a couple of people that I've never seen before voted for it as well. I guess it's a new way to try and rank up quicker. It's sad that people resort to such techniques here. It really takes away from what this community is about. Im surprised that they didn't flag you back just for the fk of it.

Playing by the rules isn't easy for some. When they upvote their own comments it just takes that much money away from your post. It's stealing and it is wrong. Someone on here explained to me that steemit is not exactly motivated to do anything because it just looks good on their bottom line. Could be some truth in that. 🐓🐓
