RE: Steemit: Survival tool for Africa? (Original Analysis & Thoughts)

What do you think about changing the reward distribution so that most of the rewards for a post go to the voters and a much smaller percentage goes to the post author? For example, 80% of the post rewards could go to the voters and 20% to the author (or whatever percentages prove most useful). Pretty much the opposite of how it is now.

It seems to me that this will allow people to make a bit of money by just voting. Then they can invest the profit into Steem Power, which will increase their subsequent voting earnings. Everyone will be able to decide how much they want to invest in SP and how much they want to cash out.

It doesn't seem probable that the majority of Africans (or people anywhere else in the world) can become bloggers. Most people aren't interested in writing and don't have that much to write about. Not to mention that reading other people's posts takes away time that could be spent on writing your own posts, which creates a ridiculous situation of everybody writing and nobody reading.

If such a change in the reward distribution occurs, the hypothesis is that the quantity of new posts will go down dramatically, therefore reducing the competition for the attention of readers. So people who do have valuable things to write about can still make good money.
