I can't be 100% sure but I'd guess the reason why your account value decreases is the falling cryptocoin markets. More than likely steemit looks at the amount of coins you have, then finds the market value through one of the crypto exchanges and returns the value of what it's worth in dollars.
Never invest more than you can lose. That being said, if you look at the vast amount of cryptocurrencies out there, which ones are actually being used for something?
Not a whole heck of a lot. Here we are using steem every single day. It has a real value and a real use. And it's here, now, today not three years from now.
Bitcoin has no use. Ethereum is the next most popular and will eventually??? have a use but right now nobody is really using it for anything. People just think it will be doing stuff eventually.
I haven't researched steem enough but the reason we have the giant passwords is because there was already a breach. I'd consider getting my steem to an exchange or checking into whether there are offline wallets.
thanks for reply bro ,this is quality information ,ive been thinking of putting in some money into my steem to get some steem power because currently im at nil.
