Well, I'm a dietitian and my fun fact is that high fiber foods (like whole grain products, fruits and vegetables) are good for your GI tract. However something people don't know is that is sticks to cholesterol in the foods we eat and helps to remove them versus allowing them to recirculate in the blood. Our bodies naturally make cholesterol and do not require much from the diet. Unfortunately sometimes predisposed hereditary issues can also cause elevated cholesterol levels! :)
