@brandonfrye I appreciate your thoughts on this matter. I used promoted listings when I first started and for me was a huge waste of SBD. Now hearing about the long game with followers, it makes sense! Thanks for the videos man, I love them.

Yeah, I try to always look at the long-term investment (or outlook) on things. And I think you really have to take that into account with these Promotions. By just adding 20-30 followers to your channel you could potentially earn extra money on every other post you do. So even if you don't earn back that SBD on the post your "promoted", it will pay off on all future posts.

@brandonfrye is there a minimum amount of followers you should have before promoting your posts for best practices?

I don't think there is a minimum amount of followers you should have, but it does look better if you have some followers prior to using the promotions. Honestly, if you have an awesome post that resonates with a lot of people, it won't matter if you have zero followers. I guess more importantly is the quality of your content. Great question!

@brandonfrye doesn't popularity also play big role?

Also, does replying on any comment also count in your daily comment reward?

I agree with you on the "burning" of SBD at the moment. As you likely read, the original intent of SBD was to be equal to $1 USD. Not sure if you've been keeping up with @exyle, but he has been talking about the amount of "liquid" STEEM in circulation, and how, as people power up more than they power down, that total number of liquid STEEM tokens has been decreasing at a rapid pace. And since payouts are in SBD and SP, those don't increase the total liquid STEEM either, which is a bit of a double-whammy with regard to keeping the price of SBD artificially high.

But, to those making a decent amount of money/post, a high SBD price is always nice. ;)

Hey @gyrosean, thanks for your comments. And yes, I remember reading that SBD was supposed to remain somewhere close to the value of USD but it's now deflated quite a bit. I need to checkup on @exyle latest posts. I know he's very knowledgable about this. And I still have a lot to learn when it comes to how each action on Steemit has a reaction to the value of these currencies. But yeah, you're right about the price going up. We're definitely earning more which is nice. :)

@brandonfrye you're the man, thank you!

@brandonfrye, You have seriously been such a huge help. I originally found you on youtube and have watched a good portion of your steemit videos to help get me started on everything. It's awesome that you're still so new and have gained so much traction! Awesome job!!! Wouldn't be here without you!

Thank you @bunnymoney, that means a lot! I'm just glad to be here and be able to add to the community. I feel like we're all sort of learning together which is awesome. I look forward to growing with all of you! :)

Absolutely! I forget which video it was that you said it in but I whole-heartedly agree with the fact that you retain information much better when you're teaching others! I took all your advice and made my first real post as the introduce me, would love for you to check it out! Hope you have an awesome day!

Side note, when I first commented on this video you were at about $20 and now you're nearing $100!!! Freaking awesome! You're gonna be a huge help to soooo many people!

wow!!! this is quite amazing because i must really say am a victim too... never knew what the promotion link button was actually all about not until now.... thanks a lot... this video was really helpful.

Glad this cleared things up. Appreciate the feedback @harddeynike!

You are mostly welcome...i will be anticipating other posts on your blog @brandonfrye

Thanks for the help sir...you have made steem look easier for stemians, and with this, i dont think any members of the steem family will have difficulty in connecting with one another

Awesome, I’m glad to hear that my videos are helping. I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

you are welcome

This is an excellent idea and contribution to the community. As a beginner sometimes we are lost with all the technical issues. This surely will help to share and understand Steemit.

Thanks for your comments @gil2010. I agree, it’s a little overwhelming when you first get started. I’m glad to help. :)

great information, thank you for sharing this video and i wait for the next posts.

Thanks for the feedback, @gabrysi. I appreciate it! :)

you are welcome.all your posts are nice and interesting.

Amazing, for sure I will have this info into account when posting my own content.

Great, I'm glad this helped! :)

There is no way they will "run out of " steem tokens. There must be a mechanism in place, we just have to find the literature on what that rule will be. It seems to be too obvious to be an oversight. Good video though, I liked it!

Thanks, and I think you're right. There's no way they could possibly let that happen. I'm sure there's a mechanism in place to prevent that from possibly happening. I'll have to look into it some more and find out what it is.

Great insight. What are your thoughts on the concerns some have about the promotion system creating a barrier to entry for beginners using steemit?

That’s a great question. And what’s funny is technically I’m still a beginner (less than a month old) and I’ve had no issues building my channel up without the promotion system. But I think I see what you’re really asking. If you’re on a budget and just getting started you might not have the funds to use the promotions. And that’s really why I like to promote (or point out) other ways to build your channel. In fact, my post yesterday covered a lot of ideas you can use. I personally don’t like to depend on factors that I can’t control to build my channel like upvote bots or even this promotion feature. I really just see it as another option, or something you can do on top of everything else you’re already doing. Anyways, I hope that helps. :)

Yeah, that's a surprisingly thought out response. I'll have to check out your video from yesterday!

Thanks for the video, I orginally thought steemit promotions was not good, looks like you changed my mind.

Yeah after using it myself it changed my mind too. Glad that helped! :)

Now, it's clear to me @brandonfrye :)
Thank you for sharing, more videos so we can learn more!!!

You're welcome, I'm glad this helped you with using the promotions function. :)

Yess! Hope next time I'll win with you random pick. Hehehe

Can you write it? I will read your article about promotion

I'm sorry but it's only in video format. I post videos because most people prefer video content these days. Plus it's something that I enjoy doing. Hopefully you can watch the video when you get a chance.

I can watch but don't understand(

Agree on not having the Promoted tab separate.
Thanks for the video.

Yeah, I'm a little confused on why they decided to do that. Good thing is we're still in Beta technically so maybe it will be changed. Either way, seems to be a good way to promote for those posts you want to show off to the world of Steemit. Thanks for the comments!

There's potential in SteemIt.
As a user, why would you bring traffic and content for nothing in return to websites such as YT when steem platforms allow curators and the content creator to reward quality input?

That's to say that we're definitely at the beginning with SteemIT and will probably still see changes to the platform.

nice tutorial now i understand about @null and promoting post . can you make another video like how every crypto currency has its total limits or supply like bitcoin they have block of coin to release every fix period of time so what about steemit . suppose if we have 1000 steem users with high SP and they upvote so the Steem dollar supply probably exceeds but how much it exceeds ? i have one more question its funny , in future are you going to make upvote bot ?

Thanks for your comments and questions @xee95. Always appreciated! Your first question interests me a lot and is something I can look into. It's really a very technical subject that would require some research on how the blockchains work but I will be looking into it. And your last question is something I would have to do once I built up my Steem Power a bit... but it's a possibility. :)

Yes you are right its required a lot of research but its good topic for your channel , sir why you are not using dtube ? through this you can also make huge amount of Steem dollar isn't good idea ?

That was such a huge HUGE help to me. They print a lot of information and I've read it, but it didn't sink in as well as what you showed us and explained with the video. Keep on posting!
Much love and light,
X

I'm like you.. I have to visually see something for it to make sense. That's why I prefer watching videos and making videos. Anyways, I'm glad this helped. Thanks for your feedback! :)

Very welcome! Thank you!

Yet another great post. Did know nothing about promotions on Steemit. Now I do, thanks.

Awesome, glad that helped! :)

@brandonfrye another great job sir.

Thank you for the great video! In my opinion, I think that SBD price will increase greatly if they burn off the coins and we will have very high payouts. That's not bad right?

Thanks @brandonfrye. Extremely useful!

You are doing great job, this interesting stuff build different ideas and motivate us to work on steemit. I am learning many things from your videos.

Hi brandon, im new in steemit and i are very interesting in promotion you recommended? And thanks for the info in your post

Interesting and very useful for youngster to grow in steemit and I watch your video and it's help me how to work on steem and the work you are doing here is quite impressive thank you @brandonfrye

Hello steem users the idea of promoting contents on steemit is a really good idea because aside getting to see contents that are of great help to you get to see them cut across all categories, trending, new, hot and also promoted. its just like valuing every currency the more currency used in exchange within countries the higher priced such currency will be on the currency board. so the board here happens to be the cryptocurrency board. So its really a good idea to promote with steemit backed dollars. Its going to increase the value as time goes on....

tried that promotionbutton once, couldnt really tell the outcome as back then I used lots of bots on the side as well :)
perhabs it is a bit depending on contenttype, and could be a some sort of "awareness boost" in the long run

Hi bro, really good idea i hope win

Very helpful, thank you! I'm new to Steemit and have been pouring my heart into some posts about homesteading, herbs, and my textile craft. I hope to be in it for the long game too!

Oh boy, this is fantastic. What a great piece of advice and it's awesome to see someone who joined around the same time I did crush it on Steemit.

You are a must follow in my books now. Keep the content coming, I appreciate it as I'm sure others do as well...

Quick question....What is the image size you used for your header? I'm not very techy, so please forgive the question if it was a little basic.

What an incredibly cool thing to know. Like you, I've never clicked on promoted. Now I know and can test it for myself.

As far as burning the coins, I am Keynesian enough to absolutely believe in Supply and Demand. When the demand gets high enough the product will provide supply (or price itself into oblivion). I don't think the stakeholders in Steem will allow that to happen.

Stunningly good content. I'd love to win your contest, but in truth, I am already a huge winner from the two posts of yours that I have seen.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart and the top of my wallet!
